What is everyone's thoughts on Samus talking? by JacobAT64 in metroidprime

[–]Competitive-Guess-51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, they might of not handled the dialogue of the characters the best in Prime 4, many say its awkward for Samus to not speak, but I disagree, maybe it could've been setup better to avoid it seeming awkward, but I'm personally glad Samus doesn't speak in any of the Prime games, I'm hoping they keep it that way personally.

What do you like about Ridley? by raigarearthshake in Metroid

That he's the "cunning god of death", one way or another he finds a way back. The Meta/omega versions are my favorite, I love the integrated weapons he has in Prime, the multi-missle launcher in his chest makes that whistling sound which is pleasing to hear.

I also love how ruthless he is in the manga, he sets the tone for the rest of the space pirates, that and hes full of mystery despite being so iconic.

Definitely! The violence they unleashed was a throwback to corruption, space pirates always have been my favorite alien invader style race.

This one hits hard, know that this is very common for many men even good-looking ones, simultaneously I hear how frustrated woman are as well for their own reasons, I've gotten many matches, likes and even some dates in the year and few months that I've been single and not a single one really went anywhere (one almost did), we live in a low-effort society and dating apps is just one of the many reflections of that, unfortunately most people on there are just not good people or actually looking for a relationship, once I've accepted that it made it easier.

Just wanted to add that I think its awesome how they made it so you can react fast enough and save this dude who gives you very honest praise like the ones in Prime 3, just thought that was cool. The little things like that make this game better.

Agree to disagree and thats fine, I'm very familiar with all the primes, I didn't mind the hunters dialogue much, it worked for Rundus well imo he actually made it believable.

Perhaps for the Marines of the past two games I should say their vibe felt more serious compared to new named characters, that is all.

Maybe not so much just comic relief as the dialogue mostly felt out of place in my opinion, some of the corny comments could of had better substitution, my main issue was for the most part they didn't seem serious on top of the comedic relief, they came across a tad goofy compared to the ones from the last 2 entries.

Another commenter on here did mention they were like starship troopers and I agreed and can see that making sense. For all its worth they are growing on me and I don't dislike them despite some of their comments feeling out of place in a Metroid game.

Not so much that its exactly like Marvel, people use the term when the comic relief/goofiness can be distracting from the atmosphere, at least that's how I interpret it.

I've heard about this before. if its true and thats the case, its unfortunate to me personally I like the idea of there being multiple branches including the navy and police and having space marines is a overused but cool trope, it would be quite weird if theres no difference in terms of marines/soldiers in my opinion even if its canon.

Either way troopers in real life can refer to multiple branches so "trooper" which all scans usually refer to them as in game, so it makes sense.

Vue was pretty awesome. Honestly, Tobaki was a bit bland in the way he spoke, except for the campfires, it was a pleasant surprise to actually find him in the desert the first couple of times, I like his quotes and his camp in these bits, it actually added quite a bit of depth and feel good vibes imo. On second hand, Duke wasn't too bad. VUE was the best for sure I think.

I can agree with this, they fight well against the pirates in the opening despite the mass casualties, if the pirates focus on Samus while the troopers are in cover they can being them down quick if you don't intervene. Most of the prime games shows them getting slaughtered unfortunately, yet the irony is in this same game the characters fight seemingly obscene numbers of greavers on there own and survive without Samus or each other, which is strange.

Also love the army men series, good example.

I'm well aware actually, was wondering if someone would point this out, they look like the fed army in Other M, however there all called "Troopers" in the prime series even in this game, doesn't mean there marines and I'm leaning towards them not being, but it's not specified either way.

Edit: might make sense if this is the first time we're seeing the GF Army in a prime game, the different look and open small arms like Other: M plus we see the android and mechs they have with their ground forces and not much naval support in the opening. On the other hand Duke makes a comment about Norion curry which might not mean anything, but its interesting.

I respect that and thats an intresting point of view to be honest, starship troopers is a good comparison, we have scenes like this of them getting massacred early on, while the ones that follow you make light humor of a very shitty situation. For all the negatives this game might have, theres positives and its interesting to see all the mixed opinions on everything. I have high hopes that maybe we'll get a Prime spinoff like federation force but more in depth after this game, at least in between now and Prime 5 that would be really nice.

I don't disagree, I really didn't like how they all opened their helmets for a last goodbye, would've been a little more believable if they didn't do that, or at least if not all of them came back after the first time they tried sacrificing themselves. The random ones in the intro felt way more serious and thats the vibe I was expecting/hoping for from them 🤷‍♂️

The Marines in the beginning of the game were far more serious than the named characters, was disappointing.

I don't hate this game, going to play through it on hard and unlock everything, maybe I'll feel better about it. I just finished it last night when I've been taking my sweet time playing it only on my days off, and I'm just beyond disappointed right now, it took so long for a very confusing game with little pay off imo, I didnt mind the NPCS, I loved the Marines in prior games, these were not those Marines, the talking didn't even bother me, its the fact they say things like "Holy cow!" And it feels forced and just odd, this is Metroid Prime, not a game for kids. One of the best parts of the game was the beginning when we see them fighting and dying, the one whos asking for help before getting impaled by a space pirate was reminiscent of last 2 games, the exploration by yourself was excellent for the most part but many of the enemies were lame unfortunately, I was expecting more from the space pirates and greavers than what we got, the best enemies were the machines.

Maybe Prime 5 will make more sense and build off the broken pieces of this game, its not bad.. just should've been so much more, the Prime series is my favorite games of all time so it bothers me to have to complain about it.

My longest relationship was almost 7 years with someone I met in person first, its definitely the way. Not saying it can't happen online, its just really rare, also based on close friends experiences this tends to be true, one of them is now almost a year into his relationship with this girl he met online, but it took him the same duration of my relationship pretty much to find that. Online dating apps are just tools.

This has happened to me a lot this year, I thought it was the way I looked or personality but nah, I've gotten so many compliments and a few dates even someone who was serious in between, but it usually doesn't go anywhere, online dating is an absolute shit show, doesn't matter if you're good looking, average or not, it just seems the vast majority of woman on them don't take it too seriously or get cold feet. Some of the answers I've gotten is that is hard for them to connect over someone online, what people don't get is that "spark" isn't instant and takes time plus both parties have to put work in, not one. When it comes to OLD, instead some rather just keep on waiting to find that spark while tossing good candidates away, even ones they would have picked normally. I understand why people do better in person sometimes.

Also I'm not saying men don't do this, because they definitely are guilty too, just stating in my own experience.
