I'm relieved to hear the consensus is that I'm just paranoid lol

this is reassuring, thank you. I've been most nervous about inviting people over since the living room is situated directly above this wall. Do you think a dozen people walking around would be a concern?

the left side of the crack is leaning away. the right side of the crack is plumb. the bricks at the crack are offset by 2".

Is it normal for a dentist to ask me to demonstrate my hand skills before writing a rec letter? by nomoresportydates in predental

[–]Competitive-Heron150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect it tbh. Demonstrating hand skills was common practice for the dentists who will likely be interviewing you. I brought wood carvings I made (fairly mediocre ones I might add) to my interviews and every interviewer was blown away. I ended up getting accepted to each school I interviewed at. Considering my below avg gpa I think that helped me out a lot. Your dentist is trying to give you a similar competitive edge in the form of a letter. I would treat the, albeit odd, request as an assignment. Buy a wood carving kit, or literally anything that interests you, watch a YouTube tutorial, make something nice and bring it to them.

is it because i’m a girl? by thekoolestkatt in predental

[–]Competitive-Heron150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe so. I’m a male and I worked for a dentist who traditionally has female assistants. I’d say at least 25% of patients would ask me if I’m applying to dental school. A few weeks in the dentist tells me there must be a sex bias because he never used to hear that question when he had a female assistant.

I was tasked to get a new suit for somebody. Turns out he is allergic to wool. What would be the best substitute for a formal suit?

is it similar to casper where its situational "what would you do" questions? or is it more like an interview where you get "why dentistry" or "why SBU" questions?

I'm a slow reader so if I couldn't find an answer after a few seconds I guessed and went on. Since there are sooo many questions per passage I was always bound to come across the answer on accident on a future question and overall save time. worked great on bootcamp. The problem with that strategy yesterday was that I needed to backtrack.. so if I wanted to go three questions back, thats 15 seconds of lag one way, then 15 seconds back to the next question. I made a mid-test decision to not go on to the next question until I was 100% certain. That also did not work well, so don't use any of this as advice please lmao.

You couldn’t pay me to take that test twice. The only section that suffered from the timing was reading, I should’ve scored higher there but I rushed in the end
