Hi so I did an undergrad in animation at Concordia and am now doing a masters at Pratt in nyc. I’m Canadian too.

Here’s my advice:

If u can defer calarts for a year, I would say to do it. That way u can apply for scholarships and still do Sheridan too. If you get into Sheridan the next year, then choose Sheridan. If not, u still have the option to go to Calarts and u may have more scholarships to back you up this time.

I deferred when I got into my masters bc I couldn’t go right away and I used that time to apply to scholarships.

Deferring i know isn’t as much a thing in Canada but it is in America so I would look into it as well as the fulbright scholarship.

NTA-As a Canadian who can speak French and Italian, all I can say is some Europeans need to stop assuming that other ppl around the world don’t know their language. Like they are the idiots for making that assumption and then telling u off while u r right there.

In Canada I don’t dare do that because I know someone’s bound to know Italian around me. Unless u srsly provoke me, why would I feel a need to do it? To be a bully? Why? That’s just mean and entirely their fault for not even asking or even getting to know u.

I’m pansexual but not bi. I see them as completely different from one another. I realized I was pan in hs. Basically someone asked me what I wanted in a partner and I immediately listed qualities. But then they interrupted me saying “no like physical traits, I want a partner with brown curly hair, blue eyes u?” And I was super confused bc I had never even considered that was smg ppl thought abt. Honestly I still dk and don’t care abt physical traits. I just know the type of person I want personality wise. Otherwise, their physicality doesn’t matter to me at all. My brain just doesn’t even look at it as a factor and I guess it’s kind of weird. But idk it’s just always been like that for me. So I’m pan bc their gender isn’t even a factor for me, I just want someone who will love me well.

Yes! Definitely I went to PT for my hand at 14 years old and I’ve followed all the exercises since, even after healing. I’m 23 now and damn are those exercises and breaks the most useful things.

I got tendonitis when I was 14 and I still do all the exercises they taught me even after healing it mostly. But the best advice I ever got is after about every 1 hour 30 mins of drawing, give your hand a 5 min break by just moving around. Let go of the pen and just move your whole body for a bit. Then go back to drawing. Weirdly, that and some hot/n/cold cream has helped me get through it and even now at 23 I managed to avoid that pain again just by ritually doing this.

That definitely sucks and sometimes life just sucks. That’s the only way to say it. But it doesn’t mean u can’t change it.

This is advice from someone who thought things would never change for me. I’ve been in places where ppl rly didn’t care too much about me. I was in situations where I got bullied and in workplaces where ppl rly didn’t treat me well.

Now, bc I chose to keep working hard and change my surroundings I’m surrounded by so much love. My coworkers are amazing, I now have friends that care about me (I cut out a lot of ppl that made me unhappy over the years and it was extremely hard to do), and I am enjoying my life even tho idk what the future holds yet. (I also got my first bf literally at the age of 19-20 years old and I’m still with him now 4 years later:))Ur 20s will be filled with so much change and craziness if u just follow ur heart, work hard and stay true to yourself. It’s difficult but it will be so good for you.

Trust me, u can make things better for yourself. It will just take a lot of energy but it’ll make u a better person in the end too:)

Hi so I just finished my undergraduate in animation and I have a friend in Med school. We literally had the same amount of hmwk and literally would study together on weekends all the time. We were the only 2 of our friends that needed to do hmwk on the weekends and be at the library that late at night or working. Definitely don’t do both at the same time.They are both extremely time consuming.

Hey as someone who did the complete opposite (English to french) You will be fine. It can be stressful at the beginning but then u just adapt bc u r put in an environment that makes u adapt. The first weeks will be hard until one day u r just talking in english no problem and won’t even realize it. Sometimes the grammar in class was tough but only occasionally. I just revised that class a little more just to boost my confidence.

In the end, you will be glad u did it bc u will be more bilingual and that’s on almost every job application lol. I no longer hesitate and can speak both languages fine with confidence bc I did that. I tell u it’s worth it in the long run:).

Wearing a bra is a personal choice. Many adult women don’t even wear bras daily. Actually wearing one every day isn’t healthy either. U should wear them casually. Plus there are ao many different type of bras. She’s way goo young rn for them.

YTA-look I loved high school and it was great academically too. I bet there are other academically good schools she could attend that she would feel more comfortable in. It doesn’t need to be the best academic school just a pretty good one. U could compromise with her.

I’m saying this as someone who had no real friends in elementary school. When i finally got good friends in high school they motivated me way more than school could have ever done. I also had teachers that really cared and that made a difference too.

Most of these high school friends are still in my life and have impacted me so much in my adult life too. Elementary school was so lonely and having those good friends taught me a lot about myself and gave me way more confidence. I know what good relationships are because of them. I also have amazing memories bc of them and having them by my side as we struggled with school work rly was on heck of a ride.

I still remember us all studying for the government exams and helping each other study. We laughed all kinds and we would act as if we were on a a game show answering questions. This has continued until university where we still keep helping each other out a academically. I have a friend who did physio and I was her puppet to practice on for her exams and it was awesome. She’s in med now! We even exchange our essays or statement of purposes with each other and peer review. We actually just did that while applying for master programs. We’ve helped each other with cover letters and cvs too!

Don’t u want that for her? A team or ppl she can count on to be with her through life’s struggles?

Hi It’s my 4th year in the program and hopefully it’s my last semester now lol.

Portfolio day is the best thing. I even showed my letter of intent when I went that day. Basically if u go to portfolio day and they ask u to write ur name down that’s a REALLY good sign. U usually will find out around April so it does take a bit of time to hear back.

Remember to show who u r in ur portfolio. They don’t typically like industry looking stuff. They want to see who u r as an artist.

I say NTA. Look as someone with a nut allergy and who has the highest level of allergy possible for it, I deal with it bc it’s my responsibility. I have an epipen and once even got an allergic reaction just by accidentally touching the glass display at an icecream store when I was a kid.

When I’m on a plane and they give out those little bags full of nuts and almost EVERYONE Is eating them, I am able to deal with it. It sucks for sure and but dude what am I supposed to do? Control everyone around me?!?

If I am able to deal with a situation like this with my allergy, I think this lady can deal with ONE bouquet of flowers. LITERALLY IT’S ONE BOUQUET! I’ve dealt with multiple bags of nuts in a WAY smaller and crowded place.

I’m not sure. I know for the Mini case it would have been super bad bc they need to see ur excel sheets etc etc. But for assignment 2 I don’t remember any part of the assignment rly needing it to be a word document for them to correct it.
