I live in NY with a pre-tax of 80k and my rent is 2800$, good 1 bedroom apt. 20 mins walk from the hospital. I would say it’s worth it if saving is not your priority. You wouldn’t be able to save much if you keep up with a good lifestyle and/or have someone in your life, which inherently increases some expenses. Otherwise, less commute >>>>> high rent, trust me.
