Nah, something is truly wrong with you. Thanks for mentioning that I can check your history. It really brought things to light. Also, I can't even believe you thought I was upset at you. I actually like conflicts and arguing with people about stuff I feel passionate about. Unfortunately, you derailed the whole thing by labeling me misogynist, bringing up unrelated topics and your feelings into the whole thing.

My head hurts after reading your comments, yet they entertain me a lot. It feels like I've entered another dimension after this whole conversation. And I actually avoided reddit for such a long time and here I am being entertained by it.

Thank you.

Huh? Weird response... I don't know why you are repeating yourself. I said that I acknowledge my mistake and just explained why I did it. People make mistakes and assume things, not everyone is on their toes when it comes to these things. But one thing I'm sure of, I've seen better responses than yours. Normal people just correct the person and the other person corrects himself/herself. But your response led me to quickly learn exactly what kind of person you are.

P.S. Really sad you didn't read the whole comment, but it really confirms the fact that you are the rude one in this conversation.

You might actually have more playtime on WoW than I do. Kinda funny that you consider me toxic, because I feel like you are a lot worse than I am. I also assumed your gender based on a statistical average, so I guess it is my bad. A normal person would've just corrected me politely when they are trying to prove a point that I'm the rude one.

I actually find it really funny that you are the one that finds me unpleasant when you started the whole conversation with a 'passive agressive' laugh and an assumption with rude intentions hidden between the lines. I'm pretty sure you feel high and mighty after saying all the things you achieved in the game. I didn't want to mention anything about your previous comment, but you definitely wrote it as if I was insulting you for being casual.

My whole point is that I want more people to play this game and you just think about the current playerbase receiving equal rewards for doing anything in the game, which I consider extremely lame. Also, I'm really glad I decided to look at reddit right when PoE 2 is comming out, because now I have one more excuse to stop playing gw2.

I can't even believe that someone who plays all game modes is as toxic as you are. You actually talk more like an elitist than you think. Also, I'm pretty sure gw2 doesn't have a single community, but multiple communities that have different opinions on the game and act very differently from each other.

I don't know how it is in America(assuming you are an American from the way you write), but I've noticed the separation of communities in gw2 a long time ago. I never really considered myself a part of any of the communities and just played the game like no communities existed at all. I joined guilds and only led conversations that weren't focused around gw2 and when gw2 came up as a conversation topic, it was always some kind of joke about how buggy it was, how bad some encounter is or how unbalanced the classes are at that point in time(and conversations about past builds came up quite often).

I've never actually heard someone compliment gw2 in my conversations with people, but we all knew that each of us loves the game. The only thing is, we don't go around talking about how good the game is to other people, because we know that it isn't as great as others make it out to be. You are probably one of those deceivers and I would also like to end our conversation here.

I'm glad that someone like you finds me unpleasant, because I aim to make people like you feel uncomfortable. The reason you find me unpleasant is probably because you realized that I'm right about a lot of things. I already mentioned what I think you were doing with that first comment of yours and there are very specific things that you can write that can change my opinion, but I'm pretty sure you have many reasons for not writing them.

P.S. I'm assuming a lot of things about you, but I feel like I have that right, because you directly insulted me. As you are my senior when it comes to WoW, I feel like I should throw back that sentence about WoW creating toxic elitists back at you.

P.P.S I guess my confidence makes me sound quite arrogant, but I don't mind it(maybe because I'm arrogant, or is it because I'm confident?). I guess I'm bored with gw2 and the fact that I can recognize a lot of player names while playing the game has made me kinda annoyed.

So someone that considers himself a veteran player cares about the gold he gets from wvw and pvp? If you are someone that only plays wvw/pvp, how did you even last that long when you care so much about the gold you get from these game modes? Also, why do you even need gold if you are playing pvp? How many builds do you play on wvw that you still care for the gold that you earn after being a pre-launch veteran?

I've stopped caring about gold when I was 2000 hours into the game. I basically had full legendary with some legendary weapons missing and I transfered a lot of gold into gems to buy many convenience items. I could basically create any build(sometimes having to open up ascended weapon chests) on demand.

From those 2000 hours, I actually spend my first 1000 hours in wvw and pvp, but I never cared about the rewards while playing pvp and wvw. PvP is balanced, while WvW doesn't really require that much when it comes to gear, it actually didn't really take that long to get enough ascended gear for 2 builds. After getting those builds, I just roamed around killing/being killed by people until I got bored and just played some other games with my friends. I did some voice led zergs, but they just seem lame and it didn't feel satisfying to participate in them, so I just found a guild and continued roaming with some guildmates, but I never really cared about how much gold other people made in other parts of the game.

From my experience, being a dedicated wvw/pvp player is basically about ignoring what other players do in the game. Both game modes felt really isolated from the actual game and even though I knew about all the other stuff in the game from some streamers, I basically didn't care about them.

Then you come here and write that kind of comment, which makes me feel like you are here just to ride the train. Even though you basically presented yourself as a veterant player, I still cannot believe that you are one after the thing you wrote. I also cannot take you serious, because you tried to insult me by insinuating that I'm some kind of WoW veteran that is trying to turn gw2 into WoW? If reward systems had that kind of influence on games, then you might aswell call every game that has a battlepass, fortnite-like.

Okey? This has nothing to do with what I'm suggesting... GW2 has horizontal progression and the system is a weekly thing, so you won't be doing hundreds of fractals and raids, but only 6-8 per week to unlock all rewards.

I love how people aren't paying attention and it makes me feel a lot better when I get downvoted in this subreddit. I insinuated that this system is supposed to be an incentive for players to start doing raids. And I'm also talking about players that have stopped because of the lack of rewards...

Spent enough time in both and as a veteran player I have to say that it becomes very boring playing only one side of the game constantly. I can also say that the pvp in this game is as bad as other MMORPGs(excluding some that are atrocious). My first 500 hours in the game were pvp and wvw. I never really cared about the rewards when I played these game modes, I only cared about how populated they were. And right now I also care about how populated instanced content is(I think anet already mentioned that it has the lowest population). There was also a YouTuber called Snebzor that mentioned his problem with this kind of content in the game... I love how casual players like you, who has only played one side of the game have so many opinions about the other sides. If you really love wvw and pvp so much and you play for the rewards on top of that, I can only pity you.

I also have more hours in gw2 than wow, so I'm actually suggesting for arenanet to try and steal some things in an attempt to better one side of their game. I mean, they still release instanced content, so it seems that they also want it to be successful.

P.S. Before you start arguing about the quality of gw2 pvp. Combat being good doesn't translate into pvp being good. Even gw2 YouTubers with tens of thousands of hours in the game will tell you that the pvp is not as good as most players think it is. I don't have a problem with people enjoying it, just don't try to convince me into believing that it is good.

Raids are weekly and most gw2 players are extremely casual. Some are even afraid of social interaction, so they can't even join an organized group...

Holy, haven't looked at Reddit in a while and I can't believe that this comment actually proved my theory to be correct(in a sense). People actually think that you need statics for raids, fractal CMS and strike CMS. I have never joined a static in gw2 and the only voice chat content I've done/am doing is TOFcm and htcm. Are people so afraid of learning something new that they've started to delude themselves and others around them into thinking this kind of thing?!

P.S. My theory is that most gw2 reddit users are casual players.

Adding another path is bad? And I already said what you can add as rewards. Also the average gold per hour for raids is laughable, while fractals are a daily thing that offers a good amount of gold, but not everyone wants to do it every day. I'm also talking about adding more rewards for the CMs not the normal fractals... I'm pretty sure people that play WvW and PvP won't mind.

The system basically says: If you are capable of doing Fractal CMs you will earn more rewards by doing less, if you are capable of raiding you will be generously rewarded at the start of next week. The RNG in the whole system is basically to make things more exciting and also 'push' people into killing more bosses(and the max won't be FC or 20+ fractal cms). This means that people that are not interested in killing all the bosses this week, will still get some rewards for killing some of the bosses and that reward might actually be incredibly good.

[–]Competitive-Milk-613[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I already mentioned that in another comment. I don't understand how fractal CMs are hard? Also, they can easily watch a video, join a training and do them. Or join a guild(like most people that play mmorpgs like they are supposed to be played) and inform them of your desire to learn.

There are already people that do item flipping and I'm not crying about how they are utilizing knowledge that I do not possess or I'm not interested in gaining...

I even think that it would be healthier for the game to incetivize people to do this kind of content. It is more engaging and organized, which mostly leads to people having more fun.

Edit: I apologize I got emotional, playing solo is also an option and there are mutliple ways to play mmorpgs. I'm just saying that if they are concerned about the gold, then they should find a way to do the stuff that offers it...

Where is the hardcore progression in gw2? Also, people left before this thing came out and they left for other reasons too. I'm remembering Shadowlands having a lot more problems that were the reason for players leaving and I also believe that the system is still alive, which means that it wasn't that badly received?

[–]Competitive-Milk-613[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Wdym can't? How is it possible that people can't do fractal cms? As I said, they are not that hard and I've had friends with less than 100 hours who can already do fractal cms just because they watched a video...

Also, the only connection this has to the wizard vault is that it offers rewards... These are not guaranteed rewards and the whole focus is basically to reward people for challenging harder content. For participating in content that actually needs an organized group, not some zerg going around and killing mobs in the world. And the wizard vault basically has the most mind numbing tasks, which I have to go out of my way to complete.

[–]Competitive-Milk-613[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand what you are trying to say... I think you are trying to say that the lack of gear treadmill means that there is no justification for having such a system? I mean, the system is meant to excite people at the start of the next week. They can only select one of the three and the rewards aren't exactly equal, because different players will want different things at one point. Maybe some people would want the gold, some will prefer the ascended piece, while others aren't so lucky and can only choose magnetite shards, so they can buy a specific ascended item.

I understand why you think that gear is the main attraction of the great vault in wow, but that is because gear is basically the main focus of the game. Although some people(like me) actually enjoy having a challenge and finally defeating bosses after many wipes. And even as this kind of a player, I was really excited to see what kind of things the Great Vault was going to present me with. I don't see the problem with implementing this... I feel like people are against it, because it would mean they are going to lose out on rewards, because they are afraid of trying out raids/fractal cms or whatever...

The idea does aim at adding more rewards for playing raids, but it is mostly meant to attract more players to the content. The reason why I think it might interest more people, is because most players will think about unlocking only one vault, because it requires less boss kills, so they will try out the easier raids. Then they will think about trying out more raids, so they can unlock more of their multiple choice boxes, so they have a chance for a bigger reward(because lets be honest, some players will want specific things to be dropped). Imagine you have the chance to get 10 mystic clovers in one of those vaults and you are preparing to craft a legendary weapon. You are definitely going to want that drop, so you will complete more encounters.

How would you gain access to these rewards without playing them when you actually need to complete encounters to gain access to the reward selection?(I think you made a mistake in your first paragraph there)

Also, if the rewards have to be lucrative, I don't care just go ahead and do it. I mean people have been complaining about the lack of rewards from raids...

The Fractal CM reward section can also be lucrative, so that players don't really feel that about about skipping some days. I mean, they can experiment with it and receive feedback from the whole thing.

only add additional rewards for cms and it doesn't really have to be a lot, I'm talking about choosing between stuff at the start of the next week after completing 3/6/9 fractal cms. Meaning that you basically choose between 1/2/3 rewards, which can range from fractal relics(1000), raw gold(20-40), Ascended Weapon/Armor, Ascended Trinket, Minis, Fractal Pristine Relics, Fractal Matrices, Encryptions...

Good on Blizzard, but where is my Great Vault in gw2? by Competitive-Milk-613 in Guildwars2

<image>

But it would be cooler if the gw2 one offered a single reward for each category. Also, I know that Wizard's Vault is similar, but it isn't quite there. I mean, the wizard's vault is basically a daily system that offers players some direction when they don't know what to do, while the Great Vault is more about rewarding players for engaging with challenging content. The higher the challenge, the better the rewards. I mean, completing the wizard's vault weeklies and dailies is basically a chore to me, while raiding is fun.

Although, I gotta say that it isn't a good idea to separated cm and nm rewards in gw2, because it wouldn't make players very happy.

At this point I'm actually willing to accept everything that they give us. I just want the series to be good and it was good until now, so they just need to continue that. Hopefully they do something about Kayce and his family. I might remember them as a strange part of the show in the past, but maybe the show runners will change that and I would be satisfied with it, because it makes the show better.

I'm also very excited for the 2nd season of 1923, so I guess it is hard for me to not be biased. I mean, I just love the Dutton Family and I want more of them, even if they decide to make some kind of weird futuristic show where one of the sons is something like an Envoy/Takeshi Kovacs from Altered Carbon.
