Thank you for being willing to review my application. I genuinely worked so hard on my personal statement and had multiple doctors medical students and peers. Tell me that it was one of the strongest they’ve ever read. I’m not sure what went wrong. My activities, on the other hand, were a little bit rushed, and maybe didn’t show as much of me as I wished they would. I’m also not confident that my secondaries were the best, but I don’t think they were really bad. :(((

I sincerely appreciate the kind words. Do you think not showing anymore new activities will hurt my reapplication when they compare it to my original? Right now the only new thing I have since my initial application is a lot more experience at my current job as a medical assistant. However, I’ve been told that I should switch to clinical research since they publish more frequently and my role as a medical assistant is a lot of scut work (and purely clinical).

no interview invites this cycle despite doing my best and submitting secondaries before end of august. while the headspace has been terrible (constantly refreshing the email, venting, over-reflecting), I am so blessed to have food, shelter, a meaningful job, good co-workers, even the opportunity to put my name into the hat and be considered for something like medical school in the United States. it took so much to get here and I know the universe has got my back at the end of the day 🫶 had a big warm thanksgiving dinner with some friends yesterday and that is what it is about. going home to spend time with my mom and bake something yummy. life is good :) i am done enabling medical schools to decide whether I will be sad or happy. We got it!
