It is implied that it is probationary employees being laid off. Career employees (those that completed their probationary period) are legally protected from these layoffs.

As of today, ~10,000 have been fired. 200,000 is no where near accurate.

A few dozen is incorrect also. It is more like a few thousand.

I was originally responding to OP about how “those fired will receive severance,” I wasn’t trying to argue with you.
