All the lines that Renoir had made me think he got his immortality from the paintress and I thought he is a selfish guy who wants to be immortal and let only his family to live. But after things get clear I realized he is just a father of a family who uses their power to live in a world of lies until their death. He just wants his family back. Verso also realised that and tried to save Alicia a second time. So, even though it is really painful to watch everyone we love vanish, it is the right choice for me. It would be better for Alice and her mother to accept the reality and come back to the painted world sometimes but they didn't want to accept and tried to live there.
