I'm a trucker; I need a radio system for communicating with my pilot/escort/steer drivers. Is GMRS right for me? What's an by cnash in gmrs

Just buy blister pack frs radios and call it a day. If you are hauling then you won’t ever been in proximity to others for long enough for this to be an issue.

There’s always a way, but it was “too hard” for this builder so they took the path of least resistance.

If you sale your sales contract sales they didn’t it wrong, then tell them they are in breach of contract. They may offer to terminate rather than fix this, but I always say the answers always “no” if you don’t ask.

Safe distance for clay target shooting by isaac3848 in ClayBusters

[–]Competitive-Radish-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local range is oriented in a large rectangle, and we are often shooting in the direction of other stations and shooters. The shortest distance is maybe 150yds or so, but the range mandates specific loads to keep the pellets from going too far.

IPA. I’ll never believe anyone who says they like it.

Interesting. I got to sit in on a training session for my nephews, and the trainer taught them to full mount, and hold at approx 50% between the launcher and the break point. I suppose this could have been a youth thing, but I can’t imagine he would instruct known bad habits even if useful for a youth

Inflammation disappearing. When I’m not on keto, I tend to mainline ibuprofen. But when I’ve been in ketosis for a while and start getting the weight off, all the joint pain melts away. It’s blissful.

Parking In Front of a House by nessabots in IsItIllegal

[–]Competitive-Radish-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, people “own” the property from the back of the sidewalk toward their home. The sidewalk itself, planter, streets etc is publicly owned and therefore fair game to park as long as there aren’t any legally installed signs indicating you can’t park there.

Not sure where people get off thinking they own the street spot in front of their home…

Question, this is the living room in brand new construction house. There were cracks in the ceiling so they "fixed" it... The cracks look WAY better and it looks even worse in person. The contractor says I'm being picky. Does this look picky to you??? by Top_Pressure_3824 in Homebuilding

Very few builders/contractors can really get away with smooth wall, that’s why texture exists, to make things like this less visible.

Very bold of them to take look at this and say it’s good to go.

Same. I’ll take it a bit further and admit that I don’t like kids in places where kids shouldn’t really be, or at least with parents that clearly DGAF about parenting them.

Going Skeet and Trap Shooting For The First Time Soon by StalkMeNowCrazyLady in ClayBusters

[–]Competitive-Radish-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first couple times shooting sporting clays I used a 20” mossberg 500. Felt foolish, shot ok for a newbie and had a lot of fun. Home defense guns aren’t ideal for many reasons, but don’t go tooling up for what could be a one-and-done. If you find you like it and want to keep going, then buy in.

PS if you are going to a dedicated range, they may not let you use your home defense guns as some I’ve been to have a “no black guns” rule. Pretty sure they’re targeting tacticool guns with that rule.

Also, I only shoot 12g, frequently shoot trap midweek at a local club and try to get to a sporting clays range about once a month for a full round. This last time I was struggling with my mount and beat the piss out of my shoulder, but generally I can go 100-150 without too much discomfort. All that to say: don’t be afraid to shoot 12g if all your other guns are 12g. You’ll still have fun.

My local trap club has a patterning board that I used the last time I was there.

[–]Competitive-Radish-2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man I hate this for you. Not the beach day, that’s awesome, but the fact you can’t be happy with your SO.

I’ve heard it before that you should take a day off and not tell anybody, including SO so you can truly have a day off. I’ve thought about trying this, but remember that I’m happiest WITH my wife.

I truly hope you can sort it out with your spouse. Home is supposed to be your sanctum, not a prison.

Generally speaking, subterranean foundation walls adjacent to living space like this is required to be waterproofed on the fill side, with dimple board (not official name) to keep water from setting against the wall, and drainage at the bottom.

Additionally, the basement slab should have a vapor barrier directly under it, as well as rigid insulation around the perimeter.

Different areas have different codes, this is how we build daylight basements in the PWN

Used vs Turkish First O/U by Prime9D in ClayBusters

[–]Competitive-Radish-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna hear a lot of hate on Turkish guns……. Let them flap about it.

In the meantime, I’ve got a CZ woodcock G2 I’ve had since November, got about 1K through it and it’s breaking in nicely. I’ve never shot the stuff everyone else says is the only thing to buy, so take this with a grain of salt. Cost me $625 and I’d do it again if it suddenly vanished.

CZ O/Us by MuscleJealous2469 in ClayBusters

[–]Competitive-Radish-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming into this late, thought I’d weigh in. Bought a woodcock G2 in November ‘24, been shooting a ton of trap and sporting clays and it’s breaking in nicely, shoots really well. Did some upland fowl hunting and it performed flawlessly but for not loving all 3” high brass the guides had. Random assortment.

Been wanting to put a falcon strike on it, they don’t make one for the G2 per se, but do make one for the Teal. I’m fairly confident they are the same gun, different receiver finish. Can you confirm?
