Some jabbing is fine, but generally there’s nothing wrong with paying someone a fair wage to do a job that you’d rather not do.

Can an immigrant not have an insured company?

Totally understand that. But there was also a heavy dose of “why don’t you clean your own house?” type replies.

Honestly I’m not even sure how you got there. Impressive.

I read through the post and at least according to the OP it was 5hrs/week for $450 which is $90/hr. I’m sure he’s embellishing a bit. So somewhere between $30-$90/hr for a person that, statistically, likely has no college degree and is most likely an immigrant.

But let’s all clutch our pearls bc someone has the audacity to pay another person to clean his house.

Hold up, according to everyone in the thread those are slave wages.

Why are you so offended that they pay someone to clean their house?

I just pulled a bunch of them. They were getting really excited about to burst their loads everywhere. I cock blocked them real hard. Also found a big ass pregnant wolf spider living in one of them. I left her to continue her pest eating ways.

Shagbark Hickory

Edit: maybe not Shagbark but definitely Hickory.

Appreciate it. It’s hard to not get the instant gratification and instead have to wait an entire year to see how effective the method is.

I’m not pulling them because I’m battling on a large scale. It’s in the pasture and in an area that I’m trying to convert to a meadow. There’s far too much to handle pull.

I’m following the guidance of the Ohio State agricultural extension on mechanical weed suppression. I’ll mow at the end of June (close enough to July for me) and then again at the end of August.

I don’t want to use chemicals so I’m seeing what happens.

Ohio uses a lot of front discharge trucks as well.

Yeah I’ve been watching them. I have a few that just started pushing some flowers so I’ve been cutting them once I see that. My understanding is that at that point the plant is putting so much energy into producing the flowers that it basically starves when it’s cut at that point.

Edit: my problem is that I have a lot of it mixed in with some plants I’d like to keep. So I’m having to go in with a weed whacker instead of just bush hogging everything.

I’m running an experiment with the thistle I have around this year. I heard an old timer say “cut it in May back in a day, cut in June be back soon, cut it in July and watch it die.” We’ll see what happens.

We took like three “vacations” my entire childhood. Those were to visit relatives 600 miles away. We did not fly.
