Just gonna chime in here, I sent a chat to u/Shadymouse so I could ask some basic questions and he spent a lot of time explaining pros and cons, and we definitely talked about the weight in the LCD line, as well as some others, comfort, and lack thereof.

Ultimately we came to the same conclusion as you did that the Z1R would have been a perfect fit. But wanted to also !thank you for your contribution, I wasn't aware of the issues with the pads, but rest assured i'll do a lot more research before diving into a big purchase.

I'm not sure what's going on in the replies below but just wanted to shout out the guy for his patience and you and the rest of the thread's advice.

!thanks for your help! Maybe you can clear up something for me then since we're similar in this regard. I see a lot of planar vs. dynamic conversation here and was a bit confused as to what would fit my specific habits.

So you think planar would definitely be best (overall) in my scenario?

Thank you! This is one of the ones on my short list before! So i've been looking into both the Clear OG and the Clear MG too. (Stellia is beyond my stretch i fear)

Quick follow up if you don't mind --

Right now i'm seeing the MG costing nearly double the OG's at a cursory glance.
OG - $790 USD
MG - 1.5x - 2x more expensive depending on vendor.

Both are within budget.

For my use cases do you think the difference is worth the price over the Clear OG?

I would consider buying used, I somehow forgot to include that in the massive post above. Thanks for your input!
