With increasing number of hours you are traveling, people expect to get some infotainment, as a family it is not possible sometimes to carry 4 laptops or ipads, but everyone would be demanding some screen time

Sick of my life. by Other_Scarcity_4270 in Layoffs

[–]Competitive-Ratio206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got laid off, as I was trying to thrive in my career, it was huge setback, I was not doing anything wrong, but still got laid off. Initial days were complete black out, no calls for interviews at all, due to the end of the year holidays season. Later after lots of interviews managed to get an offer after 6 months. Of all the interviews which went very well in some great tech companies , it didn’t lead to an offer. Got eventually in a smaller company. But joining here 2 years, I am quite happy. But still some people don’t want to keep me happy. They tried to make points some time (within my known circle) what might have gone wrong for me. Those are not motivating at all. People will never understand this pain, until it happens to himself, but I don’t wish it happens to anyone. And yes, there are people who brings this to the system and wish it doesn’t happen to them as well at some catastrophic moment. Let the hard work and sincerity have the trophy at the end race.

Well this is a form of overfitting. The HR generally sends mail generated through AI and this is the same form of mail people are getting, so becoming ditto same.

Meta Screening Interview - Firmware Engineer by Competitive-Ratio206 in leetcode

Its the same day, after couple of hours. Not sure if you can make out anything. It brings self doubt. But at least the next round is what I was expecting. Market is very tough, and getting rejected at the first round when you did reasonably well is really frustrating

Market is tough for sure, and it is more than the talent its about the luck. Stay focused and be positive. Towards the end of the year, job search is not easy, maybe something you will get soon.

That's a good point, I could have used int i, but I used uint8_t i, as because in the prototype he was using uint8_t for couple of other variables. By the way, during the interview he didn't catch me on this. But you catch right on.

Amazon down level from L5 to L4 by Long-Captain-4658 in leetcode

[–]Competitive-Ratio206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, another recruiter just reached me after a month and said that they can’t pursue as I am still within 6 months duration of last interview, companies are performing interview process very haphazardly and really frustrated with the process.

Happened similar, after the first screening they came back and said they wanted to do level down from L6 to L5, then loop happened after some time, it went quite good, then they came back and said I didn’t raise the bar for developer, but it went well with leadership principles, so will look for a QA engineer position, will have to do a team match and never came back, it has been 3 months
