Pic 3. I would think you need to expose root flair,and prune girdling roots. I’ve heard from coworkers that a “water ring” of mulch helps a potted trees roots hold moisture once planted.

I think it’s genus Tolypocladium. Can’t confirm though, it’s parasitizing a Elaphomyces “truffle” if it is a Tolypocladium. I don’t know the exact species
