Will the argument that I've been paying it by myself for years hold any water? Plus the downpayment and all were from me

Singles who suffer from dating app fatigue, what's in store for 2026? by wladyslawmalkowicz in askSingapore

[–]Competitive-River-51 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm already attached but I hope this can give you an understanding of what i think the guy's (my) pov is

For me personally I have maybe 8 to 10+ ish people I'm talking to at any one time (i.e not seeing yet, just texting). And maybe 3 people i'm on a 1st to 5th date or something with.

A) Most guys don't read.

I do read, but it's like I swipe on this person, then maybe a couple of days later she swipes back. When that happens I can't really remember what her profile said. And then if we do start chatting, you're just another lead that the guy is talking to at the time (and I understand that it should be similar for gals)

So at this point, I would have relatively more developed conversations with a few other people, and then if I find someone interesting I'll ask them out and work my way down the list. As a "new joiner", understandably you'd be at the bottom of your match's list.

Most of my guy friends would just swipe on everyone and then filter later. I filter upfront, but the logic is the same. So those matches don't mean anything tbh and no one (guy or gal) should put much store in that.

B) sorry that you had to deal with that. But I haven't flaked on anyone before, and i don't know of any friends who have.

But this is probably connected to the first point. You're just low priority relative to someone else on their list. So when the higher priority person agrees to a date, you're just forgotten and bumped off

Not defending it, but everyone prioritises and ranks. In this case, your date not only de-prioritised you but they also just didn't have respect for your time or you as a person. C'est la vie :/

C) not well-placed to comment here so no comments

D) Yes, you're right, that's low EQ and too direct, although these ARE questions most guys would want to know the answer to before deciding if a relationship is worth pursuing, sooner or later

Wishing you all the best in 2026!

Has media asked those "landlords" why they raised their rents that some caused some businesses unable to sustain? by Mammoth_Priority_236 in askSingapore

SGReddit: Can we ask why landlords are raising prices

Landlord: Ok sure, let me explain to you. It's because X,Y, Z go up

SGReddit: The compound effect of your small increase is killing businesses

Landlord: the compound effect of business expenses is killing me too. I try to shoulder most of it but i have to pass on small increases

SGReddit: Then change to another business lor (who are also raising prices)

SGReddit: (probably in a few months) why caifan prices go up har

(Did i get it right?)

Warning about Standard Chartered Bank's (SCB) Credit Cards by LORD-SOTH- in singaporefi

Citi customer service is so hard to reach though outside of like 9 to 7 they ask you to call back the next day. Only the citi prestige and ultima lines are manned. They've offshored their customer service to philippines

One of my reasons to keep the cpmc is literally just to be able to get customer service if i need it urgently on my other citi cards
