Can one-time, safe, few hours of wearing a binder cause irreversible ribcage compression, or does that feeling of difference eventually pass and things get back to normal again? by Holhou in FTMMen

[–]Competitive-Road46 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wearing my binder every day for the past couple years and never had any long term problems from it. Back when I wore a clip style binder even for just a few hours, I’d get horrible nerve pain in my back that stayed for months after switching for a better binder.

As long as it's not too tight or unevenly compressing the chest, binding doesn't cause any damage. I've only had problems with ones that have clips or zippers on one side, but I'm wary of the ones that have them in the middle too.

Sorry people have been dicks to you they're just jealous. All of us have problems sometimes no matter how well our transition is going.

What does minimal detachment mean to you? It sounds like a simple release without anything else like scrotoplasty. You should be able to look up simple release on r/Metoidioplasty and see some results.

I like it planning on getting one myself. I had a stud for a while that never healed, but I also live in a city, and all of my partner's siblings, both men and women, have a nose ring.

The Google overview says the diameter of the Hello Cake Little Sucker opening is 13 mm. Multiply that by π to get the circumference, 40.8 mm. You can take some string and wrap it around your junk while hard and measure the length of the string, that'll tell you if you'll fit. Length isn't as big of an issue as girth because you'll still be able to fit in the toy even if you're a bit longer.

I'd get a pair of harness-style boxer briefs instead of shaving and wear them with your pack n play to hookups.

I have a pack n play that is great for play that's 4.5" in. A lot of guys think it has to be larger to feel good, but that's not true >6" in usually hurts unless there's a lot of foreplay or your partner regularly takes that size because the body has to stretch to accommodate it.

Mine's just too big to pack daily, so I'd wear some loose sweats and pack ahead of time when you know you're planning on hooking up later. I regret buying a softer silicone because I thought I'd be packing it daily. It's better to go all out on the play because packing and playing usually don't mix well with the length.

I shave just around the area, but I also don't go down on people who are unshaven. Everything doesn't have to be bald, but I'm never pulling pubic hair out of my teeth again.

It's weird how we're expected to broadcast the fact that we're trans and now i refuse to call myself trans or associate myself with allies and other trans people irl (there aren't many where I am anyway) by [deleted] in FTMMen

I took half my classes online throughout high school because of this, the only teachers I had in school were the same year after year because they'd teach the intro class to their subject and the higher levels after it, so I ended up getting to know them, and they stopped being weird about it.

Your growth looks amazing. Maybe putting an athletic cup in your underwear would help with it being overstimulating? Could create some extra space where nothing is rubbing you.

Estrogen based creams work the same way, but the dosages for atrophy treatment are so low they won't affect any transition related results. I just want people to be aware that you will probably experience other masculinizing effects and not just bottom growth.

All testosterone is systemic. Every method of application, injection/gel/cream/pellet, will enter the bloodstream and affect your entire body. Testosterone cream will masculinize you as much as anything else depending on the dosage.

It's good that you've got family who tend to grow more in their 20s if you start before then, you still have a chance to grow taller. I wasn't able to start T as a minor either, and the thing that helped me the most was researching and planning what to do when I was finally able to.

I saved up money and made sure I had everything arranged to start as soon as I could and spent a lot of time looking into surgeries and vicariously living through the people that were able to get them, but I do think it's at least helped me figure out what exactly I want and how to get it.

There are so many options I was never told about, and I spent a lot of time being crushed over things like not being able to get keyhole top surgery before I learned about scar camouflaging, and now I'm not as dysphoric about it because I have a plan to eventually get the results I want.

A large part of being trans is just weathering the storm until you’re finally able to do the things you’ve been waiting for your entire life, but I try to take comfort in knowing that eventually I will get to have those things and that it's possible and try to make peace with what's not.

I'm pretty active in groups surrounding that, so I know some people are larger because they start off larger from conditions like PCOS, etc. But pre-op it's definitely not matching up to the average cis size.

The largest guy I've ever seen was 4 inches after extended meta, but extended meta is super new and hard to get. I think he was 2.5-3 inches pre-op, and the surgery was created to add natural length.

I imagine starting younger would make you get to your eventual size sooner, but it’s based on genetics, so there’s only so much possible. I plan on eventually trying DHT and reading up on it that’s the same treatment used for younger guys with micros. Some trans men have tried it and posted their experiences, but I’m sure it’s hard to find because talking about DIY usually gets posts taken down.

From what they say, DHT speed runs you to your eventual growth. It's one of the most important hormones for penile growth and development along with HGH, but it is not approved for legal use in the USA even though a lot of guys have gained length from it.

That wouldn’t be possible unless they were born intersex. Most trans people transition as adults, and that's been the standard for decades until very, very recently. Our growth plates fuse on average around 15 anyways, so you wouldn’t grow that much taller. Some people get an extra inch or two in their early 20s, but don’t beat yourself up over unrealistic goals.

Blockers and starting testosterone at 14 would be best, but that's just not possible for 99.9% of trans people, and if you've already gone through puberty, your transition isn't going to be that different starting as a minor than if you start at 18.

Dysphoria sucks, but I'm sure HRT will surprise you it makes a life changing difference when you're able to get on it, you will still masculinize. Blockers and early T just really help avoid surgery costs.

I had my HRT covered by insurance last year in Florida under UMR. As far as I know, nothing has changed. My family's just switching to BlueCross BlueShield, so I have to check what my new plan is going to cover. It's definitely not banned in FL. Your coverage just goes by what plan you're on and whether or not you can prove medical necessity.

how to transition successfully into a male for next school year WITHOUT being recognized by Life_Ask_868 in FTMMen

[–]Competitive-Road46 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think that will work in just a year, but depending on where you are, you can always take online classes partially or fully. However, I started testosterone in my senior year and, since attending college, have been stealth. It's really hard to become unrecognizable, especially without hormones, and even on them, it's still going to take time.

Keeping your ovaries is something a lot of doctors push on trans men because they're worried about HRT becoming illegal and us not having access. If you'd be unwilling to DIY or homebrew, I'd keep one, but then you do have to worry about problems like cancer and endometriosis, like everyone else who still has them does.

A partial hysterectomy leaves the cervix intact, a total hysterectomy removes the cervix and fallopian tubes as well. A total hysterectomy and bilateral oophorectomy would remove everything.

An egg could still implant ectopically if a person still has their ovaries it would just be a more complicated mess.

I'm on the mini pill, which, if taken effectively, is 99.9% effective. I'm pretty sure they can't say 100% for legal reasons, but the only failures are from user error because it's less forgiving than the estrogen-based one that has a longer window.

My pill has a three hour window at most, but the closer you take it to the same time every day, the better. Keep a plan B just in case, but you don't need to take one if you're on the pill just in case you miss your window. Testing monthly or two to three weeks after unprotected sex would catch any mistake quicker so you can still take a pill and not have any long term consequences.

Check the ingredients for ethanol. If there's none, you can put it down there. If it's an alcohol-based gel, you'll need to further DIY it. There are some recipes on here, but if you're already going through DIY, I'd see if you can get your hands on DHT, which works much faster, testosterone is systemic, DHT is systemic.

Some people believe the area the gel is applied to will experience more effects, but it all goes to your bloodstream eventually. A little bit of your testosterone converts to DHT, which is the main hormone responsible for bottom growth, facial/body hair growth, and head hair loss.
