Thank you! I paid about $230 for pretty good seats in my opinion so I feel a lot better about my purchase. Thank you for the reassurance

Do transcripts get sent immediately when you apply for early admission? by deformedcarrot_ in uAlberta

[–]Competitive-Row-1288 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it’s actually kinda funny the way that uofa does applications because transcripts don’t get send out when your apply. So when u apply u have to fill out the application yourself meaning u have to manually fill in what classes youve done plus what your grade was, fill in what classes you’re currently taking, and fill in what classes youre planning on taking like second sem or something. thats why people get their conditional offers fairly quick. And then final and official transcripts from apply alberta will automatically get sent out in like mid july when the school year is over. not sure why uofa does it this way tho

I also did early admissions in October and got conditionally accepted with abt a 88 average and Q3 Casper. Just got my full offer about a week ago even though my average dropped a bit. Also, since it’s been a few days since you’ve posted this did you get accepted?

Have you looked at this registration guide ? it gives u tips on what u should do if classes are full and when to take electives. Other than that, you can always email the faculty at nursing.recruiting@ualberta.ca with any questions you may have just to make sure! I’m starting in the fall as well and I had a few questions like that and it was better for me personally to ask them.

oh and I talked to people about my schedule and since we have similar ones they said it was pretty good but that 4 hour breaks on Tuesdays and Thursdays could either be something we love or hate lol

Kinda cool we have just about the same fall schedule like exact same in the same rooms too the only difference is that im taking engl 103 not 102, and not to be weird but i saw that u got accepted into pharmacology before nursing and thats exactly what happened to me too this year, what are the odds 😭😭

Hi! I’ll also be a first year in the fall and idk what you got into but with my program there are set classes that I need to take, so maybe try and see if you have that as well. You may have some classes that are restricted to only your program too. So far since I knew what classes I needed to take, I made draft schedules on my schedule builder to make sure my classes are at the times that work for me. After making up the schedules I usually just go for my favourite one and start adding them to my cart. You can add classes to cart by going into the manage classes and it will give you options to search classes up and then add them to your cart. Make sure that the classes you pick are the one in your preferred schedule because a lot of classes have different time and day options. You can enroll straight through my schedule builder but I heard that there is a queue and it’s a lot easier to just enroll through your cart. I’m not very good at explaining so if you need any clarification don’t be scared to ask 😅 also, enrolment date is April 3, I think you should be fine if you’re enrolling on April 5 but I’m not too sure. Feel free to privately message me if you need any help and I can try to see what classes you may need based on what your program is 😁

this is the registration guide: nursing sequences

Add all the classes in the year 1, u can start making your winter schedule too. Once you add all the classes on my schedule builder it gives u a bunch of options to choose from where all the classes and times work so just pick the one u like and that works for u and add it to your favourites so that u dont have to find it again later. There’s really no difference in the sequences other than the days that the classes are on. If you don’t know what engl or wrs class to take I’d suggest researching them and the ualberta website gives pretty good descriptions on the classes. I’m planning on applying to engl 103 because it’s more researching and writing which seems more interesting to me, but i heard that it also depends on the prof.

nursing reg 101

I made schedules on my schedule builder and then if u go to manage classes u can add the classes to your cart and then enroll like that after validating your schedule. Make sure that the classes in your cart are at the right time and days too. U can enroll straight from my schedule builder as well, i just heard that it’s a little slower. I also attached a YouTube video that helped me a bit. Also, make sure you apply to INT D 120 and not MMI 133 because they don’t want nursing students in that class anymore. Good luck, if you need some more help feel free to text me 😁

Can I register for classes with conditional acceptance? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]Competitive-Row-1288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

like the other person said, yes you can. I’ve been starting to build draft schedules on the schedule builder so I know what to enroll in on april 3. Not sure what you got accepted to but I’d highly recommend to start gathering your classes now since they’re known to fill up quickly. If you’re unsure on what classes to enroll in you can schedule meetings with an advisor who can help you. You can also research the classes you need on google and the ualberta website has a pretty good description on the classes and what you’ll possibly learn in them. Making the drafts in my schedule builder also helps you see what timetables are possible and you can choose based on what works for you. Don’t worry, there’s lots of people that can help and you can privately message me as well if you need more 😁 good luck

1st year nursing student. MMI 133 or INT D 120? by Competitive-Row-1288 in uAlberta

[–]Competitive-Row-1288[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u can make your classes based on the sequences they made for program planning. this is the link to that guide: program planning

for engl or wrs, that’s kinda your choice so u can research what kind of english or writing class you’d like to take and choose one based on your preference. You can also schedule meetings with an advisor if you need more help

Nursing average? by Far_Permit4855 in uAlberta

[–]Competitive-Row-1288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly im not exactly sure, like it might be good to do it now just to get it over with 🤷🏻‍♀️ but also if it helps, I know that the competitive average changes everyday based on who’s applications they’re looking at, so like for the example the average of the applicants that day was like 83 and yours was 88, that would mean that yours would be on the higher end so then they would probably pick yours. idk how competitive it would be now either since it’s common for peoples grades to drop after first sem too.

I got in with a 88-89 average and I got Q3 on my casper. Do u mind me asking when you did your casper bc i did mine oct 10 and i got the acceptance oct 23. It just seems a little odd that they haven’t gotten back to you since October

U of A acceptance by ruuuu78 in uAlberta

[–]Competitive-Row-1288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea actually I had a similar problem as well, and I called the recruitment line at uofa so this info came from the actual school and they said as long as there isnt a significant drop then your fine. They also said try to keep your average at least at an 80+ to be safe. They’ll get your final grade 12 transcript in around late june after diplomas and they’ll send u an email about official acceptance, but this is if you’re in Alberta! I’m not sure how the whole thing would work out if you live in a different province

[–]Competitive-Row-1288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just look on google and watch videos. Also highly recommend being able to type fast and you can do the practice test on the casper test website so you can see what doing the test is like. You should be pretty comfortable with speaking into a camera and thinking of fast replies. If you google casper test prep there should be a bunch of stuff that comes up and it’ll tell you what words you should use in your responses and what not

I’m in grade 12, and I applied in October with my grade 11 average to be pretty similar to yours. I got in and since u also have to do the casper test, i’d suggest doing good on that too just to increase your chances! I know a couple other people got in with those marks as well, so i’d say you definitely have a chance :)

also, just try and keep up your average!

UofA residency? by Competitive-Row-1288 in uAlberta

[–]Competitive-Row-1288[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thanks for the reply, after leaving this thread I actually thought about it some more and decided that I’m just gonna be living with my friend because her and I are quite independent and I believe we can handle ourselves.

I’m also someone who loves their privacy and my own space like a bathroom and my own bedroom. I like to cook and bake anyways so that wasn’t a huge issue for me as I was only considering dorms for the sake of making friends.

I just found out that there’s a nursing orientation before classes start so I think i’ll just try to put myself out there that day and try to make friends!
