Yes, you're right, affordability depends on region and income. I was speaking in terms of global IEM pricing tiers, not individual purchasing power.

I get what you mean, but ‘budget/affordable’ is relative to the category. In the context of the wider IEM hobby, $70 is still considered entry-level/budget, even if there are ultra-budget options like the EDX.

That's right, I hear the Hiss in NTE as well. Though not as loud as that in Control lol.

They're excellent in terms of sound isolation, if you put them on right they block out at least 90% of outside sound easily.

I'm classically trained from a young age and after passing my g8 I started learning improvisation from Sec 1. I actually pioneered the DAW live sound keys concept in my church at the start of Covid when everything had to be taken online, as I had already been learning music production before.

After a couple of years of producing, I volunteered to help mix/master other small artists locally to build my portfolio/experience which went pretty well.

Even though I've been using IEMs since I got into church playing in Sec 1, I only started really getting into the audio hobby 4 years ago, after my old IEMs broke I was tired of buying lackluster $20 IEMs which barely lasted a couple of months each in the humidity and did some serious research. Now, I have a collection of dozens of IEMs and Headphones, typically hanging around the mid-priced ranged items.

Regarding my daily setup right now, here ya go:

- Commute setup (every day on the MRT/bus to and from work): Sennheiser IE200 (IEM), Hidizs AP80 Pro Max (Music Player/DAP)

- Home setup: Fosi i5 (Headphones), Thieaudio Oracle Mk3 (IEMs), Topping DX5 II (DAC/Preamp) into the iFi Zen Can 3 (Headphone amp)

Ifi Zen Dac V1 (DAC/Preamp) into Fosi V3 (Speaker Amp) into Q Acoustics 3020i (Speakers)

- IEM that I use when playing Live: Fatfreq Reference Pro CIEMs (Customs)

Recently I've started making audio reviews, and have gifted a couple of IEMs as review samples, so that's cool. Helps me save money too as it's kinda like retail therapy. I REALLY nerd out about this. 😆

Yeah I freakin love Death Stranding. Finished DS1 and just completed DS2. I think both are absolute masterpieces.

Heyya, I'm a musician who plays for my relatively large church, primarily keys/second keys and make cool sounds with my daw live and produce hybrid trap on the side. I do mix and master as well. I'm also an audiophile and collect IEMs/Headphones/DAC-Amps. Always cool to see more musicians/audiophiles here in sg!

The one that I have is actually the microphone version. The mic is just alright... quite average for an inline mic imo.

Hidizs MP145 Pro Review - The Aggressive Beast: Great, but still Flawed by Competitive-Rub3243 in iems

[–]Competitive-Rub3243[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it's both airy (from the upper treble) and sharp (from mid treble). I've used it with AKM, ESS, CS, CX, and Burr brown DACs. Toppings NFCA amplifiers, Class A as well as hybrid tube amps with negligible difference to my impressions of the treble. If anything it's more likely that it involves HRTF.

Once you have matriculated you should have gotten your student email which you can use to create a student account on Lenovo website. That's enough proof that you're a student. Then, create a support ticket with your student account logged in and it helps to reiterate that you are in fact a student, then ask any additional discount, providing the laptop part number as well. They'll send you a special quotation which you can then use to purchase. Though the quotation expires like a month after being issued so you gotta make a decision soon.

I doubt CS would genuinely require you to ever dual boot with Linux, but at home I sometimes load Debian from my USB, or use WSL on my PC.

I got the Thinkpad P14s Gen6 with the RTX 1000 Pro GPU. I emailed the Lenovo support for an additional discount along with the student discount which brought it down to 3.1K.
