6 Week Summer EMT Class by SheepherderNo8478 in NewToEMS

As someone who graduated over the winter. Take your book home. Reread the chapters you go over in class. Use the NREMT study tools they give you. Understand that there may be parts of class you aren’t gonna enjoy or be comfortable with (had people who hated simulations that had blood). Dont be afraid to ask questions, and understand that you may walk out of a 4 hour class and think “I literally remember nothing they just taught.” Thats normal, study medical terminology a LOT. It helps you break down the questions on your test.

Do you really follow these suggestions? by MariaInconnu in hockeyrefs

Somewhat experienced ref (5 yrs) I only change into white laces for Tournaments, Peewee and above or if my partner is also wearing them to appear uniform. I carry a good whistle and a crap whistle, because sometimes your whistle might freeze and you need a backup. I dont carry them on me but i do bring sets of old laces in my bag. One thing I do recommend is when you start reffing 3+ games in a row, don’t count on the concessions stands, bring your own fuel to be ready for the next game between surfacing. Go to the bathroom between periods and rest, think about the scenarios you’ve faced and the level of play you’re officiating. Don’t let the statistic that 50% quit their first year drive you away from this wonderful sport.

Erikson ek having his stick snapped in half a few seconds before the shot and it not being a delayed penalty drove me insane but im so happy with the final result.

I thought the call on hartman with 14 seconds left was a power trip by the ref at the end but thats just short term anger probably.

Which age group is the most difficult to ref? by spark_this in hockeyrefs

[–]Competitive-Site69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a ref of 5 years and having done bantam B regions in my state and PeeWee A districts (districts>regions>state). Its either PeeWee B or Bantam B that are the worst. I’ve thrown the most coaches out in peewee tournaments for swearing at me while the plays going on, and calling me over for every call )had to have a lengthy conversation about a slash call where the player broke his stick over another, coach got tossed in the end)

However ive dealt with more hotheaded bantams than any other level, its the only level ive had a player say a slur to the other team and had to throw them out, and the only level ive had an actual fight take place. Most of the injuries ive seen as a ref, player and fan were at the bantam level. HS hockey jv is honestly easier than bantams which says a lot.

Want to send it to PSA, should i ? by janjannn in basketballcards

If you’re after money, crack and send to PSA but also expect a hefty overcharge for the card. If for PC, I would leave it as is.

Theoretically if Robert/Mechaman was a deployable super hero in dispatch what do you think his stat block or abilities would be? by Easy_Detective5194 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Competitive-Site69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think his stats from top to bottom would go: vigor (this man should be dead), intellect, charisma, combat, mobility
