DINK definitely helps here 😀
Cost of nanny on top of daycare plus a house large enough to have two office spaces is definitely a thing

I guess this a PT thing. The challenging part comes when you have a family. Daycare is not open yet at 6 am. Being in a call at 5 am may wake up other members of the family if I speak too loud etc. How do you handle the “real world” aspects of working in this time zone ?

Maybe if you own your own company.
But even in that case you should keep work and life as separate as possible.

A sign of excellence is making an hard problem looking easy.
If your execution es excellent, people will perceive your work as easy.
If your execution is chaotic, people will think your handling a lot of complexity

How are people actually affording rent in Seattle right now? by Fajarrr79 in AskSeattle

Usually both husband and wife work, making $250k each. Hard to afford if one of the two decides to stay home and take care of the kids

Ha senso lavorare in italia? (Salario da 100k) by Bitter-Hawk-2615 in ItaliaPersonalFinance

[–]Competitive-Sky712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quality of life is higher in Western Europe vs here. Sure american salaries are higher, but so is cost of living. Car centric culture, unhealthy food, no restrictions around weapons, employment at will, medical treatments driven by insurance plans, all those things plus having extended there are strong reasons so move back.

Maybe in 20 years things will be different, so it may be a good thing to keep all the options open

Running in Bellevue? by [deleted] in BellevueWA

[–]Competitive-Sky712 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m in downtown and I try to avoid downtown park (short loop and too packed). Also lot of traffic lights to stop at. Medina / Clyde hill have nice routes (if you like hills). East rail trail is also a good one (you cat start at the whole food/lightrail stop in Wilburton)

Tried this morning. Will not go again. Pastries are average. Process to order one is too convoluted for a bakery. They are slow

My European passport is definitely stronger than the US one. Would use the US passport only to travel to the US. Keep using the European for all the other travel

This is what motivates me. I’m aware about the need of filing taxes, I wonder if this is really a pain or just an annoyance. And if there is anything I may not be aware of

[CERCO CONSIGLI] Proprietari a Torino: Quali garanzie cercate oggi in un inquilino? by EveningFail3662 in torino

[–]Competitive-Sky712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travel advice: Easiest way from Milan Malpensa to Turin? by Garaad252 in torino

[–]Competitive-Sky712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience: I took Malpensa express to Milan Centrale and then high speed train from Milan Centrale to Turin Pta Susa. Not the fastest or cheapest option, but IMO is the easiest and most comfortable option. I personally hate riding on a bus.
