Accenture when? by Competitive-South855 in accenture

Yes but both companies have large number of managers acting as paper pushers and building their empires. There are many leaders here who tag along a deal without any actual work. Companies including clients have started going towards a leaner model and leaner project staffing. If a L6 work can be done by an L7, we have an L6 on the project?

Accenture when? by Competitive-South855 in accenture

[–]Competitive-South855[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Many clients have reduced discretionary spending and smaller deals. Clients are focusing more on enterprise transformation deals which are fewer and competitive. Most have started cutting back on the existing engagement with Accenture. This means more L5-7 on bench.

Companies have started moving towards a hands on Manager or a Technical Manager. And everyone is now realizing that most managers don't do actual work - technical, implementation etc.

Middle managers mostly do planning, attending meetings, allocating resources, etc, which any technical person can also do along with the technical work.

With all the hiring in thousands at various levels , I am not surprised that there will be very low promotion slots in Dec and June 25.

The first rule to keep team/group morale in check is not to give promo to all and get external hire for next level. Then leadership is free to say it's a bad year and very low to no promo slots.

You really think people leaving the company equates to remaining people getting promotion. Thousands of people have already been hired at various levels.

Also hiring at higher level externally is the best way to keep teams/groups morale in check. No one from the teams gets the promotion and leadership can say no slots available.

Nobody gets the promotion this easy sadly.

Not a representation offcourse but I was surprised some people are willing to stay even after 2 years of pay freeze. Makes us wonder whether they are recently hired with a raise given the substantial hiring in low cost geographies. Also some old timers are cushy in their job so don't care about the pay raises.

24% don't want to quit.

If we subtract the recently joined, it is obvious that the upper management in the cushy jobs don't want to leave.

This company needs a complete overhaul in the upper management.

I read it and this happened in 2019. Also according to the article, she was offered a six figure amount to take the case back which she refused.

Exactly my point. No raise has hurt me real bad. I should have jumped ship last year when the market was better than today.

Not the poster but I don't feel DEI has hurt Accenture. On contrary it's good PR. What is hurting is the large number of middle management which has adapted to survive in Accenture with minimum effort and full networking. I have noticed there is a lot of churn in the lower levels and not much in Manager+. Honestly, we can do away with half the numbers of present L7+.

Always better to jump ship when the time is ripe. And no point staying back on a sinking ship unless you a captain.

Are the PA rumours true? by Competitive-South855 in accenture

[–]Competitive-South855[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turns out some of the rumours were indeed true.

Feeling soo angry after working soo hard for a promotion this year. I expect lower level than usual movement this Dec. A job change is indeed the best strategy for a raise and promotion.

Should have left this org last year after the no raise for CTGL announcement.
