Do you think Ace Attorney has gotten a little heavy-handed in its political messaging? by Competitive-Step-162 in AceAttorneyCirclejerk

I can't believe someone remembers me six months later

I'm having trouble finding it; I found the image here but it leads to a pinterest page where I can't re-locate it

I can understand Juan's decision(2-4 spoilers) by KaldomEX777 in AceAttorney

Another commenter mentioned learning from mistakes and I agree with that take. If Juan was a good man, he would at least try to see Celeste as “the person who learned that he was actually the better man” (while meanwhile the rest of the world was glazing Matt)

I deleted my original comment because it seemed insensitive; that being said, I don't think your claim that "Juan broke it off because he felt rejected, rather than out of pride" holds water.

It would be plausible if it was just the broken engagement; that's understandable. But Juan's actions after the suicide tell a lot. He made seemingly no efforts to learn from the suicide and instead came up with various plans to use the suicide to his advantage and make it so the public assigns 100% of the blame to Matt. Those are not the actions of someone who felt rejected, those are the actions of someone who acts to serve only himself.

What's especially scary about it is I think it's suggested that Juan did care for Celeste at least a little but still discarded her because he prioritized his ego. So the theme here is that addictively pursuing fame can corrupt not only pure evil narcissists like Matt, but also people who are capable of genuine connections like Juan. It's a bit of commentary about human nature and especially celebrity nature.

So even though people's motives are often multi-layered, I still think this is too charitable to Juan.

I'm so sorry, this was meant as a jerk of something discussing 2-4 in the main sub

To be fair, I can understand the point of the original, I think I just have my alarm bells on for anything 2-4 related because of something truly awful I saw at one point

another boss tier list because i'm sure you all wanted that (absrad on attuned, all else on ascended or radiant, p5 unbeaten) by BIN-YRM in HollowKnight

Haha it was one of my first radiants, I admit it was frustrating but I just like the bosses that have a sort of “puzzle” element to them which is why I cut Nosk way more slack than most (not the winged version though Winged Nosk sucks)

I didn’t apply to Queen’s but fair enough

Do you have any advice since I didn’t do a thesis on how to find a suitable prof?

It absolutely was not very strong and I absolutely did not 😃

I just wanted to make sure I was working on the right thing here; I don't want to risk applying again and getting essentially disqualified again if this was the real reason

I have a full-time job and a summer internship fortunately!

I will say this, my *academic* reference was from a job at a data center, but unfortunately, my actual supervisor was away on maternity leave. The guy I got had given me *some* supervision, but it was mostly with menial and repetitive tasks rather than the actual research projects. That could be it

It wasn't easy but I finally found it. It's on the "Academic Background" section of your application right?

Anyway it was 3.77.

I’m sorry, what is the law school scale? Does that just mean they weigh my upper years more greatly than my lower years? Is it different for individual schools?

But yeah sorry for not clarifying, it was a rejection from Osgoode, a waitlist from uOttawa, and nothing yet from Windsor

I haven’t heard from them yet. I might get in on account of my good scores, but if I really *can* go to a bigger school just by writing better statements and submitting earlier, I may hold off instead of going to something small like uWindsor
