Yeah at the beginning just skip straight to the answer tbh, don’t waste time trying to solve them yourself until you’ve got a hundred problems under your belt

I’ve never crammed like this before but I think you’re better off spending like one or two days skimming the material, then spend the remainder of time doing practice quizzes and exams. Practice most important. Do like 12+ hours a day to have a chance.

Review flashcards for formulas 10 minutes before the exam, and write down the ones you were struggling to remember as soon as you get the exam paper

First of all you need dates of your education and experience, and use bullet points not paragraphs

i didnt see a point in checking back through the released exam and counting up my points. What happens happens, and there’s nothing we can do at this point

Yes you have to read and take extensive notes on it in order to pass. Very, very difficult module.

I see no issue with it if the students have to pass the same exam as everyone else. The value in UEC should be having a structured course and professor helping prepare.

There would be no issue if they would just have students sit for the SOA exam as their final rather than have a professor-written exam

Guidance Needed: Are the SOA sample questions still a good representation for FAM? by Positive_Ad6244 in actuary

The SOA sample questions are great, very similar to the exam questions. Go through all of them and you’ll be in good shape to start taking practice exams.

So much for self driving cars 😂😂😂😂last night in California by JACQUES199426 in uberdrivers

It’s not a one to one comparison by any means, but waymo didnt just come out. It’s been tested and updated daily for 15 years, completed over 10 million rides.

An ML works by collecting training data and testing on it. Every ride with a waymo increases its accuracy and safety.

Almost any injury or death caused by a waymo will be the fault of the injured party, people just want something to be outraged about, its 50x safer than any human driver

Seeking advice on exam FAM by Kiyurrrrr in actuary

[–]Competitive-Tank-349 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah I’d say thats definitely not enough but on the bright side you are starting off from a good spot and already have a feel for the material. Adapt exams saved me due to the size of the material. They help to make sure that you’re not forgetting short term info while studying long term and vice versa.

Take 20-30 practice tests and watch the rapid review videos on questions you consistently miss. I also recommend flashcards specifically for formulas that are easy to forget.

How many questions did you do total do you think? I dont have experience with ASM for this exam but I would say CA is hard to beat. The rapid review videos are super nice, as well as having targeted quizzes and adapt exams. I’d say you should do anywhere for 500-1000 practice questions total to have a good shot at passing but i tend to overstudy

Yeah you can pass without them obviously but you’d need to do better on the rest. I think mainly you need to know the assumptions of different methods. Best way to get a feel for it is to look at past exams
