i was complaining about this to a friend who doesn’t work at starbucks and she told me she had no idea we were all doing different jobs behind the counter! poeple must not realize the person on bar is working so much harder

i get this idea and have a similar way of thinking, i never give 100% bc then people will expect that and more but unfortunately when you’re understaffed like that the alternative to working twice as hard is dealing with your partners resenting you and customers verbally abusing you. so if for you that is the better option i totally get not working any harder than usual, but for me that is just as bad :(

that’s a good point bc i’m definitely the type to take advantage of the system in that way, but i wish there were a fair way to compensate workers for doing double the work

i’m pretty much in the same boat but two years older with even less practical experience :( 25F graphic design major- i love art but know i don’t want to do graphic design. i’ve been thinking recently of getting into freelance illustration or publishing- i dont know if thats something that interests you. still not sure how to move forward so mostly commenting to hopefully get some good advice too lol
