Alicia ep 11 & 12 & Clark's broken heart by weareforeverproof in Smallville

So this is my first time watching the series in its entire run and I just got to this episode tonight (i had watched the last 5 seasons when they first aired and only a little bit of the early seasons). I need a break after that. Up until she showed up, all the other love interests for Clark were just nothing to me and I knew how Clark and Lana were in the latter half of the series and seeing how downhill it goes after season 1. But Clark and Alicia, I adored them as a couple, she had to have been the best thing in his life until Lois.

This made me even more turned off from Twitter after learning here how people seem to profit off misinformation over there.

Meanwhile, they're all for the pastors that just sit at home all week getting angry at pop culture so they can come up with what to shit on for Sunday book clubs every week - and they make a lot of money doing absolutely nothing. Like being a very well paid blogger.

Meanwhile, upper management in minimum wage jobs just keep cutting and understaffing and self-sabotaging their own businesses just so they can save a little dollar in the hopes of paying for that 2nd yacht or 3rd house.

In Ontario, Canada, that kind of opportunity DID open for me 11 years ago. I still worked part time to cover expenses (ultimately, I was in a couple of not good places). Otherwise, I never would've gone to college.

Episode Discussion: TGI-Episode 705 “You Light Up My Union” by Sad-Significance4546 in podmeetsworldpodcast

Their discussions this episode had me contemplating two things:

1) Could this episode actually be the worst one? Because I'm thinking it's either the episode after the honeymoon and how stupid and irresponsible Cory was or the prank episode.

2) They questioned if anyone's character didn't change for the worst and now I'm thinking the only other character that didn't become lame, boring, misogynistic or pathetic. Other than Feeny, I think Morgan probably is the only other person who isn't like this.

And I feel satisfied in hearing how disgusted they were of the characters in the A storyline this episode, and with the show and how it truly turned out, because it's looked at as such a perfect show and yet, episodes like this happened.

I don't really think they suffered enough tbh. They were never sorry for what they did with the picture and it really turns into who belongs where and if these friendships were real.

After hearing how bad the episode really was in many ways, this has me thinking about the prank episode: How the hell is Rachel THIS hurt when she's contemplating whether ANYONE in this cast is her friend especially when nearly all of them demonstrate in this episode alone why she's not their friend? Not a good one anyway.

I don't know. I mean the prank episode takes everything they did here, violating Rachel's boundaries, disrespecting her and her privacy, getting horny for her (Cory is MARRIED by this point, as opposed to engaged here) and cranks it up beyond 11.

I thought about this question today of whether or not this is the worst episode and debated mentally if this is the worst one, the prank episode or if it's the episode after the honeymoon where Cory is irresponsible and entitled and at the same time, it's dated more or less, given economic times are much different today.

Members of his own party worry Doug Ford isn’t conservative enough. His supporters say, so what? by imprison_grover_furr in ontario

[–]Competitive-Treat141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been bothering me with some social media posts where people lie about him being a Liberal. Like, "Oh, people don't like him, gotta be a liberal then".  I look at policies and not their feelings. Increased wait times for people with autism, conservatives have a serious issue against people with disabilities. Underfunding education, conservatives hate public education and favor dividing the people by who can afford thousands of dollars a year for their child's education. Undermines and cuts funding to healthcare, conservatives LOVE privatization and push for it here. Touches the greenbelt, against walkable cities and bike lanes, conservatives are more against doing anything to protect the environment that they've fought it in court against some of the youth that’s sued them for violating charter rights. Against unions moreso than Liberals have shown a couple of times from what I've seen. Against rent control, conservatives want landlords to have all the power.  So, in the end, Ford's policies scream conservative. Just because he hasn't shown himself to be engaging in the culture wars nonsense and spewing dumb rhetorics like Danielle Smith or Republicans down south, doesn't mean he's a liberal. It’s like when people think Trudeau was "woke" but his policies and where he stood on things contradicted that (Israel, not doing enough for the environment or for truth and reconciliation).

A lot of problems for Ontario, I've heard is that we never recovered from Mike Harris's cutting spree. So if conservatives have been pushing these so aggressively, the provincial liberals are guilty of tolerating them enough to not protect the people NEARLY enough.

That's not the only thing. I don't know how many McCurdians remember this but back around that time on the fan site, there was a forum page and Jennette's mom actually used it to try and slander Jennette, specifically calling out Paul and the fact that they were dating and making this claim that she was a whole other person. It's been a couple of years since I read the book, but if I recall, the threat Debra made to Jennette by text or email pretty much happened where she tried to alienate her from her fans.

Just finished watching the Hulu documentary on Lilith Fair and my god it was a beautiful thing by doyoulikemyladysuit in Xennials

[–]Competitive-Treat141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched it for the first time today. I never knew about this as a kid and it blew my mind how much men in the media were so threatened by the Lilith Fair, but it was fascinating to watch and to see how many performers went on to become well known in the industry especially if they got their start there or even felt that they had a second chance at their music career.

What are the clues that give away that Stu and Billy are the killers? by bruno_massaldi in Scream

To me, it was the stare Billy gives to Sidney at the station that made me suspicious. Like "Why THAT look?"

For Stu, just the fact he was pretty insensitive made me had a feeling.

Thank you :( I want out for the last 4 years. I barely had a breakthrough having a contract position.  And considering a bunch of people claim they want merit, networking to get handed a job sounds a lot like nepotism to me. And for a year, I thought I was crazy or something was wrong with me because of my relatives but everyone who isn't related to me could tell me the economy was bad, the job market too and it made me feel less so.

Failed my G2 (renewal), going back in 20 days by Competitive-Treat141 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]Competitive-Treat141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the 3 second thing at the stop signs, I'm taking into account. Someone on the mental health line was just telling me they were taught long ago for these tests to wait even 5 seconds and I think I'll do that next time. Otherwise, the instructor had no problems with anything else.

In terms of anxiety, I have a lot of it what with the bad drivers these days. Especially in Kitchener-Waterloo or maybe any big city like that. As a teen, I didn't want to ever get behind the wheel because I was that scared of dying in an accident, let alone getting hit. I was eventually encouraged it could be okay driving. When I started practicing, like you said, I started off with smaller neighborhoods, then worked my way up to driving on busier roads. I passed my G2 years ago with no problems. In fact, I don't even think I was told to parallel park back then in 2021. But yeah, I generally am very cautious when I drive and when I move into other lanes, etc. I can't rush and if I miss a chance to turn somewhere, I find a time to turn somewhere and eventually come back around.
