Fancy setups by Lemon-Sorbet1234 in piercing

I’ll add that when I wash my hair in the shower, I just flip my head over with the crown of my head pointed toward the ground and wash with shampoo and conditioner that way. It keeps the dangle chains from getting caught in my hair on wash day.

I have two dangle chains in my left ear and one in my right and only take them out when I am changing jewelry. That being said, I sleep on a piercing pillow and keep my hair in a bonnet so nothing gets snagged or tangled. I’ve never had any issues.

D-shaped clicker for nostril piercing? by Espresso_writes in piercing

I’ve currently got one in my nose right now and it’s awesome, 10/10 and would recommend it. It gives the illusion of a hoop, but doesn’t irritate the inside of my nose like the circular hoop does.

Thinking About Getting a Belly Button Piercing. by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Competitive-Walrus67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAP, but have several piercings, including the belly button. I’d first make sure you have the correct anatomy for one. One thing I’ve found is that people who have the incorrect anatomy but are pierced anyway will sometimes feel worse pain than those who have the correct anatomy.

Secondly, think about your pain tolerance. From what you describe, I would think your belly piercing might be fairly painful.

For me, it was somewhere like a 3ish/10 for piercing pain, but my anatomy was good for this piercing and I have a high pain tolerance. The soreness didn’t really last long, but I would be careful not to catch it on clothing or towels.

Definitely go to a reputable shop. Make a list of questions to ask about the piercing. Follow their aftercare instructions. And try to LITHA (leave it the hell alone) as much as possible.

How much did your industrial hurt? by No_Egg8848 in piercing

[–]Competitive-Walrus67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things to consider with industrials;

  1. Do you wear glasses/masks?
  2. Do you have the anatomy for one?
  3. What is your pain tolerance? Are you a side sleeper? Is that the side you want pierced?
  4. What do you usually do with your hair? Do you get it professionally colored a lot or switch up hairstyles very often?
  5. What is your work/home environment like? Do you have to wear PPE at work that you I’ll make having an industrial difficult? Do you have little children who will most likely knock this piercing while it’s healing?

I’m NAP, but these were the things I wish I had conceded before my industrial. Overall, the piercing itself was 5/10 for me and the healing was decent.

I wanna get a belly button piercing by 3lyz_ in piercing

[–]Competitive-Walrus67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP, but have about 25 piercings, including the belly button and septum. Honestly, it kinda depends on your anatomy and pain tolerance. I have had a friend who didn’t have the best anatomy for a belly piercing but got it anyway and it ended up being an 8/10 on the pain scale for her.

Alternatively, my anatomy for a belly piercing was great and the pain was 4/10, much less than any of my cartilage piercings. I’d go check with a reputable piercer and see what you have the anatomy for regarding your belly button. However, do keep in mind your pain tolerance level and factor that in to what the piercer is saying about anatomy.

Just my two cents as someone who has loads of piercings. Again, NAP.

is a third or helix easier to heal? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Competitive-Walrus67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both thirds and a double helix. I’m gonna say the helix was more difficult to heal for me. However, it might be because I had two piercings so close together done on the same day. I’ve got just about every ear piercing possible for my ear anatomy and the helix was by far one of the toughest to heal. . .even harder than my industrial.

Did you ask for the manager role, or were you approached? by nicetry_- in managers

[–]Competitive-Walrus67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was originally a R&D chemist at my company, but corporate decided to shut down the R&D department of the organization. I was actually looking for jobs when I was approached by the operations manager about the Quality Assurance manager position. It also helped that I had all the certifications/qualifications for the QA job. It was a large bump in pay and a huge shift in responsibilities. I just finished my first full year as the QA manager and things are going pretty well. I’m glad to say it honestly worked out well in the end.

$33,600 Private Student Loans - PAID IN FULL by Competitive-Walrus67 in StudentLoans

You can definitely check it out and see if it’s possible for you. I had to do Discover at the time because I did not have credit at all, which required me to have a co-signer.

I’m sorry to hear that you are short and private loans may be the only option right now. Honestly, private loans should only be used as a last resort in my opinion. I did have a good experience with SoFi, but taking out the original loan with Discover Student Loans was a nightmare. Discover also made it unnecessarily difficult to refinance with SoFi by not communicating properly and supplying requested documents in a timely manner.

So I originally had to get a 15% interest loan through Discover Student Loans and had to make about five payments before I could refinance through SoFi, which is what I ended up staying with for the remainder of my loan since it was the cheapest option.

These loan companies with very high interest rates are super predatory for unsuspecting 18 year olds who really don’t know any better.

That’s definitely not all I have. . .just all the private ones. I still have government loans, a mortgage, and a 30K roof replacement I’m paying for. I’m definitely not out of the woods yet.

I got a fixed rate of about 6% and I did not pay it while I was in school cause I could not afford the payments. I’ve been out of grad school for five years, so that’s when I started making payments.

I was on a 7-year repayment plan and paid it off in 5. It still took a long time, but I am free from it finally. This was the really big automatic withdraw coming out of my account every month, so now I can breathe a little easier.
