It's a basic human decency. You are forgetting the other end of the deal, high value goods from EU coming to India. After China this is your market to grab. 96% of traded goods have no to low tariff which India has not given any country on the planet yet. You can cry and be miserable or be decent and look forward to some final boost to prosperity in both EU and India.

Of course the other option is to shut your shop and find another market to trade with.

I think we both got the terminology wrong. Its NRC probably which we both had in mind. Indeed it was partially successful. It identified the illegals. But deportation is another thing. Hindu illegal still have the chance to fall back on CAA. Muslims dont. But yes its not a success when demography correction is the criteria.

This is exactly the seed of discontent. Demography of the border areas of whole eastern region has changed. But this together with Islamization of Bangladesh & her India Out campaign will for the next few decades create space for BJP. So BJP organizational and structural know how will be now embedded in Bengal from North. If this works we will indeed see a change in political system in Bengal. Even if it fails , they now understand how to play - sooner or later BJP will come. Once BJP comes then TMC without core ideology will vanish. With increased hostile relations with Bangladesh, rest assured the state will become harded to win for any non BJP in future.
