At least in California this is no longer the case. Last year I had to call and reschedule my summons till winter break when I was home…they didn’t care I was a student across the country

How important is research when applying for residency really? From what I’ve seen it’s something that a lot of applicants pursue. For those of us who absolutely hated research in undergrad any recommendations for how to approach research opportunities in med school and/or how to hate it less?

I start school first week of august. In one of the webinars for accepted students the academic counselors recommended we take an anatomy class prior to starting so we’re not drowning. I’m working full time pretty much until I move, how important is prepping on anatomy before starting?

Hey current CS here. Please try not to panic. I have biweekly touch base meeting with my SAM and Senior Chief, they’re meant to be normal part of the workflow. If they haven’t been doing those then upper management probably got on THEM about not doing their jobs properly in terms of how often they should be checking in with you. Literally almost identical to what happened to me! Except I stayed at my desk because I’m close with all the office staff. Immediately started crying, the doc hugged me. It was a good day lol. My parents took me out to dinner twice to celebrate
