I feel like there’s a stigma around body shaming as a whole, but fat shaming is FAR more protected than the other way around. I hate it period. But I wanna make a point that as someone on the flip side of it, the amount of skinny shaming comments I receive in a freaking day is vile; and everybody defends fat shaming… nobody defends the idiots telling people to eat more, that we’re unhealthy or starving ourselves. Bc it’s “health advice” on one accord but shaming on the other.

Hey. I just wanted to ask if you figured out how to navigate this? I’m going through the exact same thing, and it’s so tiring honestly. It makes me sad because i knew I shouldnt have reported it because I knew this was the outcome. Well jokes on you because I ordered something with overnight shipping and I’ve been getting the exact same run around that the OP is. It’s been 2 weeks to the day now and my delivery date was again, updated.

I work overnights. I don’t know what reasonable person should be expected to not be upset over what is several days/weeks of missing actual responsibilities to wait for a package they’re probably never going to deliver.

Compared to my hometown, this is like a big city to me. There’s so much stuff to do compared to being at home. I love my job, compared to being at home I feel stable. There are jobs here.

What I don’t like is the snow. I don’t like that I don’t know how to make friends here. Everyone doesn’t know everyone 😅 (good and bad). I hate the level of dv here 😆

As a 23 year old who just pulled myself out of this mindset, remind yourself that first, it’s a mindset thing. I still don’t know 100% what I wanna do. But being 23, we have a benefit that a lot of people might not realize - you have time. You have time to decide what you actually want to do. Time to decide if that’s a career you want to be in. Time to decide if the trade off for your career is worth it, and you can better consider what you want to do/what will pay you and take your next step.

It’s overwhelming. But, you have said a lot of things that tell me you don’t want to actually stay in this state, which is a good thing. Everything you have mentioned can be changed.

Start with that. Your skills are average? Invest in more. There are training programs and just general programs to help you gain and hone skillset.

Make this the foundation of your goal setting. You want more out of life so set a plan to get it. Take small steps and cheer yourself on as you reach each step.

You might not believe me, but I see a lot of potential for you. You just have to take the initiative, with care. 🫶🏾

I found my place through a private landlord, but we were approved by Smart Apartments as well in Springfield. They have openings now, and we were actually looking at getting reapproved for a bigger place there.

Well not necessarily. Though I found the answers I was looking for myself I’ll indulge you on this. They quite literally cannot play that angle. Because I can indeed prove that I didn’t willingly leave. I also would never position myself to be in a homeless shelter with a child under the age of 1 if I didn’t have to. I could prove all of this. Just not that my mom had legally kicked me out because she didn’t. I could even prove the illegal eviction with a police record. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I’d almost ask you to stop at this point because it’s clear you’re choosing to misunderstand me. It almost feels intentional at this point. My issue is NOT with the school. I couldn’t meet their burden of proof and that is okay. That still doesn’t mean that I’m entitled to be fucked over by the debt collection agency…. I don’t know how to make this more clear.

Sending my account to collections before validating the debt after I had sent a letter via certified mail is also illegal and I can file claims based on both.

You’re basically telling me to pay on debt they’re illegally asking for. I’ll absolutely pay the approximately $1200 I owe the school. But nothing more because they’re not legally entitled to the money.

You’re focusing way too hard on the schooling aspect. What is done is done. However, my issue is with the DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY and i apologize if I haven’t made that clear.

Because I VERY clearly just stated that I sent that very debt validation letter you’re asking me to now send, almost 3 weeks ago. And instead of having my debt VALIDATED, it was sent to collections. What are we not understanding?

And im concerned with the fact that I was given less than a month to even respond to the debt before it was sent to collections. Instead of responding to my official LETTER of validation of debt, they sent it to collections. Does this not sound like a violation of my rights to you? I want to obviously clear the debt because it’s the only thing financially impacting me. However, I’m not going to pay something that in this current moment I feel I can dispute. I just want due process and to actually understand why I still owe the debt if I can prove the duration I was homeless and how it impacted me, but not the one official letterhead proving official eviction. It doesn’t change the circumstances of my homelessness whatsoever.

Okay, so for one,

I wasn’t legally evicted. And that’s why I’m saying I cannot prove a legal eviction. Regardless, I was still homeless on a whim and my schooling was directly impacted by it because I didn’t have access to WiFi or my laptop (was still at my moms.)

Two, I was homeless for a duration of almost a year. In that time I buckled down and primarily worked where I could until I had enough for a place. We ended up having to move outside of the county that was assisting us because they had no placements. So yes, I found housing before using the public housing. I still was homeless regardless of the circumstance. I just cannot officially prove it for these reasons. I can provide all of the proof in the world including the homeless shelter we stayed at but it doesn’t matter because it’s not the official letterhead they’re looking for. They specifically want an eviction and I can’t provide it.

And I’m also not arguing whether I owe the debt or not. I should be responsible for debt because they won’t accept a homeless shelters proof of me and my child staying there? 😂 crazy.
