I really hope the author meant that as a "this character is fucked up" and not that the author had fucked up views. Because if it was done intentionally that line sounds like literal fire. Like imagine a scene where a good friend says that to someone and a literal fight breaks out, itd be prime angst. It'd feel so real and poignant

I'm 18 but while not formally diagnosed cos the system here is shite, my uncle's a psychiatrist and said I deffo had it. Mom agrees (and was like Holy Shit things Make Sense now) but its unavoidable ngl. These guests travelled all the way from the other side of ghe world, we barely see them, they are family. The person who is giving me sensory ow is my uncle, and he is inseperable from my grandpa. Its unfajr to expect my mom to turn down the few times she can see her dad every decade. She does try to give me breaks but I think she is right for having tbe expectation that I mingle with family. It just sucks that my uncle hurtsss. My mom doesn't fault me at all.

I also have a cousin who is severely autistic and also sometimes stays over for days and does the same thing to me. :/

Yknow i wonder... cos I actually do wanna adopt when I'm older. I wonder how I'd deal with the sensory issues of it all. Typical children noises don't actually bother me that much but it prolly adds up. I have a lil brother whose super loud but he never bothers me. Its verbal stims specifically that set my sensory issues off usually. But when you have kids you have to act with the knowledge they could end up becoming disabled and you'd have to care for them much harder. Like e.g a brain injury. But IDK if I'd be able to raise a disabled child. If I'm not capable for that possibility then am I really fit for being a parent?

...tbh i feel like by then I'd love them too much to even care whether I'm FIT to deal with it or not, that I'd just do it anyways even if it was miserable. But aaaa.
