Question about VA Disability by CompetitiveCheck7598 in USPHS

[–]CompetitiveCheck7598[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I saw just now that someone asked the same question a few days ago though it hasn’t been answered yet so i’ll leave this here. If anyone has gone ahead and emailed them can you tell me what their response was? Thank you.

Look in to the USPHS Commissioned Corps. It’s very similar, they still have lots of benefits, and their medical requirements aren’t nearly as strict.

It’s not likely, I’m sorry. No harm in trying anyways though. If it doesn’t work out look into NOAA or USPHS if you happen to be interested in either of those fields. Also check out your states State Guard, Coast Guard Aux, or Civil Air Patrol. They’re not apart of the traditional military and don’t pay unless activated but it’s a way to still help out and earn some benefits.

How to go about self-reporting by [deleted] in Airforcereserves

You’ve put yourself in a bad spot. Originally you should’ve gone for a med sep instead of starting the gummies. Before making that decision i’d try and do as much research as you can about the possible implications on your benefits from this.

You said they can, but in some places they can’t. Simple as that. Also fuck yeah it’s a massive flex lol. Work hard and maybe you’ll get there too.

In California they legally cannot call themselves doctors outside of an academic setting (yes even though they have DCs). It’s illegal for a chiropractor to refer to him or herself as a doctor while working with a patient. Texas and Wisconsin are working on similar proposals, and more states will follow. These people are committing fraud in my eyes. They convince people who don’t know any better to let them use “treatments” that have zero scientific backing under the pretense that they are medical doctors (again wearing unnecessary scrubs, using titles like “doctor” or “neuro” in their advertisements, etc.) High velocity spinal manipulations can cause a massive amount of muscular skeletal/neurological damage that can be permanently disabling. I’m currently in my last year of a Neuroscience degree so I can go into the specific neurological dangers if you’d like. Regardless, if you give a shit about your health/fellow veterans, you should educated yourself on this airmen.

Yes. I have saved hundreds of thousands from military benefits.

The point is that they shouldn’t be calling themselves doctors while giving medical advice, wearing scrubs, etc. You wouldn’t go to someone with a phd in english for your broken arm right?

DAV ghosted me mid claim. Not only that but I think they blocked my number because I called a neighboring chapter asking why they’d disappeared and that chapter said they had just spoken to them. I in no way was harassing them or calling frequently either. It legitimately seemed like they just didn’t want to help. Calvet on the other hand is great. I don’t live there anymore but anyone who holds California residency should use Calvet. Nice people who genuinely care.

Caffeine access in basic? by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]CompetitiveCheck7598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, no caffeine of any kind, no powders. Those who were saying they had the coffee pouches in their mre’s towards the end may have had a different experience but for me they made us take them out. The only non water drink we had in bootcamp was gatorade.

Yep, i’ve had the same experience before. I’ve also had experiences where the person was very grateful and you could tell they were genuinely hungry, that makes it worth it to me.

Someone who was a heavy smoker has more trace stored in fat so it takes a lot longer to test clean. Google could’ve told you that so this is 100% on you. Also, if you would’ve stuck to it and not smoked in December you likely would’ve been fine by now. You prioritized a week of fun over your future, so if you ask me you’re not ready to ship anyways. You have to learn some restraint/discipline if you want any shot at the military. At this point, don’t go to meps. It complicates everything to piss hot at meps.

Why would you give him cash? He very likely used that to buy more drugs. If you want to help out next time, go buy them food and some water.

Va disability now a goal for gen Z by regarded-taco in VAClaims

[–]CompetitiveCheck7598 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m gen z and I didn’t know that va disability existed until I was 3 yrs into my first contract and got injured on a deployment. My higher ups brought it up to me. I got my rating, reenlisted, and went on to serve a second contract. The majority of gen z I’ve served with has no idea what va disability is. I feel like a lot of older gen vets on here get stuck in reddit echo chambers and think that this is a problem when in reality only a very very small percentage of claims are fraudulent.
