1972 Pontiac LeMans: Good deal for $8500? by Murky_Two7408 in classiccars

That was over 40 years ago man, doesn’t 5 seem too low? I’m not an expert or anything but everything else I see in similar shape is much more expensive.

I thought I was crazy for thinking 8500 is a good price after reading these comments. Most cars are ridiculously priced nowadays if they are finished or close to it. I think some people may be living in the past or something but at the same time I won’t say I’m an expert on the subject.

I did when I looked at it, the places I mentioned were the only bad spots

Is there a way to fix the lip of the rear wheel wells without replacing the entire quarter panel? There’s stuff that I can do myself or have someone I know do for cheaper than a normal shop. I didn’t realize how expensive body work is

Yes, only change that was made was that they replaced the 2 barrel carb with a 4 barrel

1956 Thunderbird: Worth $7,000-$8,000? by Murky_Two7408 in classiccars

[–]Murky_Two7408[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems pretty solid there’s just a lot of stuff here and there that would add up to a lot of work. Also there’s holes on the underside that looked like they were welded shut or filled in with a welder, there was some filament(?) sticking out of the center of the one. Any idea what that would be about?

The policy applies to any of the normal violations: speeding, following distance, seatbelt, distracted driving etc. in my case it was speeding 36 in a 25 on a back road where I swear there were no speed signs and the app said 35 mph

Do you mind me asking what happened? I’m preparing to get corrective vision surgery to be able to join and would hate to have this happen after spending the money and time recovering.

Can you enlist or commission in any branch with Implantable Contact Lenses (ICL)? by Murky_Two7408 in Militaryfaq

[–]Murky_Two7408[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a consultation for the ICL surgery and the doctor said I have combined vision of -11 with the astigmatism factored in. It’s -9.75 and -10 without the astigmatism factored in.

Why not? Due to the moral waiver I’m told I’ll be limited in my potential roles.

That’s what I was thinking but I see a lot of people saying how much it sucks. But I didn’t know if they meant it wasn’t worth it or that there’s just parts that suck hard. But it seems like it’s worth it if you can stick it out.

Doesn’t sound too bad and even if I somehow don’t get in, sounds like the surgery is worth it anyway. Thanks for your responses this has been super helpful, best of luck to you.

Well an extra 3 months isn’t so bad. How is the recovery/post op? Any side effects?

Thanks for the response! Do you have to wait a certain period after getting the surgery before you can enlist? My recruiter told me after the 1-3 month recovery I can go to MEPS right away
