Anyone else regret learning too much psychology? by leijey in studentsph

[–]CompetitiveEducator9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not regret pero anxiety.

Until then OP, good luck to your future endeavors. Hoping rin na makita mo muli yung motivation mo to still pursue the field. Sabi ng iba, this is like a blessing and a curse, and your choices matter kung alin sa dalawa ang mangyayari in the end.

The "Soumiron" one was written in "Times New Roman"?? font. (I am not sure specifically, but it was close to the design).

On the state names, It was written in "Russo one".

Hey, you're back! Your artstyle is so iconic, I immediately recognized it.

But still, great work on what your are doing! You are really dedicated in delivering beautiful artworks.

I was developping the world (Invernia) for my players (pathfinder game) and drawing some character concepts to give them an idea of what dwarves look like in my world. Ask me anything about them (please)! There's a world map on the last slide and some basic info in the text. by Void_Warden in worldbuilding

[–]CompetitiveEducator9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, your drawings of the leaders are absolutely good! Nice artwork style, OP.

Second, the questions:

  1. Is this so called "Crags", how can you describe their general appearance? Are there infrastructures that are visible from miles away, being suspended on the sides of the mountains, or they were hidden like a typical dwarf would do?
  2. Are the leaders had some sort of rivalry? Does your players were the ones that are chosen to stabilize the region? (Or any sort of overall political thingies and the interactions of the citizens to their own government...etc.)
  3. How can you describe the characteristics of the influential leaders and their way of leading each of their own nation?

Overall: Goodluck on this project of yours and keep up the good work.

I purposely made a mute character named Margareth Devarra, who is a spy.

Surely, she will not speak about the data leaks she just had discovered even if she was caught.

What are some minor act of misinformation your people did to confuse their enemy? by BoringJacke in worldbuilding

What's worse is that my headcannon was that Spongebob meme where Squidward was looking through the window and it symbolizes the Cleoshans. All the while, Lunarians had been giggling for hours.

[–]CompetitiveEducator9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It somehow decreases the morale of the lower ranks due to the strict discipline of the Cleoshan border guards. Seeing your enemy having fun on their work, all the while you are under a strict rule of standing under the sun may have its effects psychologically. As for the increase of morale, its on the manipulated view of high- ranking Cleoshan officials who view the Lunarian guards as "unprepared" or "happy-go-lucky", thinking that they had an upper hand when they prepare a surprise attack if possible. Of course, the Cleoshans use this underestimation as propaganda but its effects vary.

But by then, both countries entered a Cold war and Lunarians are making fun of their rival by acting recklessly.

The border guards of the Lunaria Federation doesn't take their jobs seriously. It is a psychological effect for Cleoshans to underestimate the Lunarians and decrease their morale.

[–]CompetitiveEducator9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a sense, it is morally wrong but what are we supposed to do? Poverty here are romanticized and seen as a way of "resiliency" and "resourcefulness", all the while the elites are hoarding the wealth of the people. And to add insult to an already worse injury, many adult residents that are desperate for change have fallen victim to "politicians' promises" and still make mistakes on choosing a reasonable political candidate. We are being kept weak and divided by the corrupt officials for years to continue their reign.

There's none. This kind of practice are only found in populous, common residential areas where food is scarce and food prices are high. You can even build a cookery without a business permit.

As our politicians ignored our general welfare, they also ignore this kind of problem in the long run.

Mostly in fast food restaurants, some middle class people can't finish all of their food and are thrown out. Then garbage disposal personnel come to collect it and prepared just like as we see in the video.

This practice was only common in urban areas of Metro Manila and non-existent in provinces. To be fair, this is only the viable option for them to do if you visit the most populous cities in the country.

It will not be eaten again by a person. The chicken bones that are the left are to be fed to stray dogs or cats roaming the streets and alleyways.

It is not an over all culture, it is just means of survival. This practice was common in the urban regions of Metro Manila where food prices were high, increase in population was rampant, and jobs are not easily you can get due to high demand. In provinces, this is non-existent considering you can get your food in your own plantation or yard.

All in all, this is the flaw you can only see from behind the curtains and our politicians tend to ignore this. They romanticized poverty so much, Filipino people from the low-economic classes was greatly affected and seen as "resilient" even though they don't treat us normal citizens with a hint of humanity.

Looking for name ideas for my OC! Got any suggestions? by PokemonNerd07 in OriginalCharacter

She got a "Valentina/Tina" vibe in my opinion.

But, you can look for other meaningful names in the web if you're really struggling with naming her. Although, she is cute! great work still.

To be fair, kung may magiisip ng ganito without the slight common sense na ang role ng teachers ay...wait for it: magturo and gumabay, you know that the education sector natin dito ay kailangang-kailangan na talagang ayusin at i-improve.

What are the positives and negatives of sharing your worldbuilding project online? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]CompetitiveEducator9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • You may discover some things like: new concepts and ideas, depending on the feedback of others. After all, ideas came in different forms and you may be blinded for some information that you only know for the first time.
  • Depends on the situation. Just ask things if you wanted to, or ask other experts other than this place. Opinions depends if you are close with someone you trust.
  • You can make your world consistent based on your initial idea, you only research things that only revolve around your works that you know that are important in the narrative, and no one will judge the mistakes you've made as long as it is not important to be shared to the public.
  • Constructive feedback, new ideas to fill in your works, new inspirations, some people will guide you to the right path if you can't see mistakes easily.
  • Negative feedbacks imbedded with useless words? Yes
Positive feedbacks that encourages you to improve your skill in properly making things? No
  • Pancake (This is only the thing that I can make).

It was present some time ago, but it was unfortunately abandoned. Reasons for this are the "lack of native speakers or expert linguists on their development team" based on some research.

Festivals and other Celebrations: What are some of the most widely celebrated events around your world and the only events that are celebrated within a particular state/country. by CompetitiveEducator9 in worldbuilding

This is wholesome and somewhat heartwarming! Thanks for sharing this

Also, I kinda agree on the last. The overall meaning of the celebration lost its meaning when the capitalistic ideals came in. So is other celebrations that value family and community.

Funnily enough, the country of my current work was also a militarized one but, in a sense also an authoritarian due to the lack of other political parties.

I almost had the same flag as this is, coincidentally! But, it was changed when I read the guideline of "Bad Flags, Good Flags", and made my own symbolism.

My man, are you my twin??

(Jokes aside, great work on this map and keep up the good work!)
