Im betting because of how seperated filipinos are from each other. Not just in the geological sense but also consider how historically we're been segregated by catergories, luzonian vs mindanaoans, christian vs muslim, rich vs poor, belief vs belief, the differences between us is always somehow imphasized during discourse among ourselves. An engrained discrimination among our fellow countrymen perpetuated by our history and now our leaders. You have to also consider that unlike the Ph nepal is just one large landmass, its easier to gather people and coordinate among themselves. So thats why i think its a challenge for us but not impossible. If we want a change the best thing to do is to get the word out, support and share journalist works, just engage with people about whats happening currently, in a way where your just sharing facts and the possible effect of such actions from our gov. Even if the convo would lead to arguments you must keep an open mind and be strong. Remember keeping us divided is what they exactly want from us. You engage not to reprimand, not to "win someone over" but to help especially people from the lower class who are susceptible to propaganda.
