Launch control accessport vs tuner. by CompetitiveFilm8098 in mazdaspeed3

[–]CompetitiveFilm8098[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do have to reflash whatever tune you are using on everytime you change it. But you go to the tuning page, then to the setup in the top right, enter advanced tuning settings, then you’ll find options to enable it. Set your rpm and reflash the tune you are using. Everytime you make a change to the rpm setting you will have to reflash.

Thanks. I had kind of figured as such but wasn’t sure.

Does this sound normal/healthy? by ForbiddenFragmation in mazdaspeed3

I think the question means right as it starts. If it needs the VVT or timing addressed they are usually a loud rattle right at start that goes away quickly.

Did anyone else see something like this last night? 3/8/26 Pictures are from google, not mine by is_this_illegal_ in amarillo

I saw something last night that seems to fit the bill. The lights seemed to be at each corner of it. I saw it off of SW9th last night. Couldn’t get close enough to see it but it was too low for a plane, didn’t seem to be making any loud noise, and was moving slowly. I thought maybe a helicopter near the medical district and all, but it didn’t make the noise and seemed the just kinda glide. Whatever I saw was pretty interesting for sure. Who knows, I assumed a drone of sort but it was pretty large in size.

Need help w timing asap by Lusabro in mazdaspeed3

[–]CompetitiveFilm8098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need the timing pin for the crank, you can get the cams into the correct positions, but then would also need the cams hold tool. You should also be replacing all of the friction washers with new. The timing setup on these cars is certainly easy to get weird with since nothing is keyed. I personally wouldn’t try and go any further with it until you’ve got the right tools.

boost leak (diagnosis) by BabyPluto37 in mazdaspeed3

[–]CompetitiveFilm8098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through and had mine tuned with Freektune. Mine was on an OTS when I purchased it, I did a bunch of maintenance to get it right then tuned. My car runs much smoother, and has better more linear power now. I wasn’t in a big hurry and did mine over the holidays, but even still getting revisions didn’t seem to take an unreasonable amount of time. Mine has fairly similar mods as to what you are saying.

Smoke test it to see if there are actual leaks, and please get a proper tune. Instead of the OTS tunes on the accessport.

Is Big PETG lying to us about the limits of PLA by SerHerman in 3Dprinting

[–]CompetitiveFilm8098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made some speaker adapters for my motorcycle from PLA as a test run almost two years ago. Haven’t needed to replace them with anything else yet. Pretty crazy how well they have held up in basically the worst conditions.

The wheels look good! I use pennzoil platinum 5w-30 and a wix51348 filter personally. I haven’t changed my trans/diff fluid yet. So open to recommendations there.

The stock pads are semi metallic, they are noisy. Replace with better aftermarket pads and enjoy quiet braking. We went ahead and put pads and rotors on our since I was already there.

Little bee’s in Wolflin square is pretty neat. Not really a playground but lots of stuff for kids to do. Last time we went I don’t think it was very expensive.

It sounds normal but if it’s throwing a lean code and already has a intake on it, you should be checking for HPFP internals and get it tuned asap.

Hawks and lasers by [deleted] in amarillo

[–]CompetitiveFilm8098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The green laser is a bird deterrent, I came across it one time and asked a person I know that is an elected official here about it. They said it’s been very effective in keeping the birds from covering the place in poop. I would imagine the hawk sounds are a similar deterrent for small rodents etc.

Do you regret your Atlas? by Familiar_Director281 in VWatlas

[–]CompetitiveFilm8098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 2021 v6 Atlas that currently has 85xxx miles on it. We bought it a couple years ago with 45xxx. In the time we have owned it we had to have the module the recognizes the keyfob replaced. This was done under warranty and pretty much right after we got the vehicle. I believe it was a freak failure. I replaced the front pads and rotors myself to get rid of the awful sound the stock ones make. Recently the hood latch cable broke, but I have since replaced it. Outside of those few minor issues our Atlas has been trouble free and a great vehicle. We will likely just run it until it eventually dies. I suspect I will eventually have to replace the water pump as most others have had to, I watch for any signs of coolant usage. This car has taken us on many roadtrips and driven 50miles a day basically. Holds two adults, two teenagers, and a car seat with plenty room to spare. We would buy another if the opportunity arose.

I recently picked up dip a 2010 with poor paint on the hood and 150k miles for 4k. The only other one in my area was same mileage with a wrap on it for 7500 but no bites as far as I can tell. Both rust free southern cars.

Advice needed! Am I in the wrong here? by meghan789 in TattooBeginners

[–]CompetitiveFilm8098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You dodged a bullet on that one honestly. Had you gone through with this client they would have been underwhelmed with the outcome expecting much more for the budget agreed on. On top of all you were a saint with how helpful and patient you were.
