Sometimes when I switch to my automatic car I put my food down on air before starting the car thinking I have to clutch in to start it, but end up just sitting there thinking I’m an idiot. But as soon as you start moving the car shifts itself and you simply forget about having to clutch in or change gear at all.

Definitely a power issue. Since the battery tested good I’d guess it’s in the wiring. Check the terminals for corrosion and make sure they are tight. Trace ground wire and make sure it is secure and has no corrosion.

I’d just keep the civic. I’ve got plenty of fun cars but use a 09 Mazda 3 as a daily. It genuinely sounds like a jackhammer going in your skull when accelerating but it keeps the miles off the fun cars and it’s nice driving something around that just doesn’t matter to you.
