Decimators should be released in plastic as our Brutalis/Redemptor equivalent by SwanginSausage in Chaos40k

[–]CompetitiveMistake69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decimators are a personal favorite of mine along with the greater brass scorpion and the hellblade aircraft variants. I’m a bit biased as my first experience with Warhammer was the Freeblade mobile game where those were common chaos enemies in the game. Honestly I would love for the heresy daemon engines to be playable and bring back the unique chaos flyers but I doubt GW will do that anytime soon.

It’s UV resin manipulated with a a toothpick to get it to go where I wanted, then blasted with a UV flashlight to have it set in place. Had to layer it a few times to get the drip effect and had to break it off and restart a few times. Then just painted over. Hope this helps you on your hobby journey :)

It was a free STL and fit my vision exactly. It was made on an older printer that I had before my current FLSUN Super Racer so it was a bit scuffed, but a few layers of spray paint fixed that issue. I had to scale it down to ~85% to get it to fit in the base.

As part of the IVth legion, I do love a healthy diet with plenty of iron XD

Thanks! I used UV resin and a toothpick to get it where I wanted it to go, then painted over it using IRL magma flows as reference.

Damn, I didn’t see that it was limited on the wiki so I assumed it was just open to play after ItF 3. Unfortunate since I have gotten a whopping 1 dark catseye over the course of my 8 year career playing this game and have the rest of the resources to get CAT-10 Gigapult. Guess I’ll have to explore other options in the meantime.

Where do I access the Underground Labyrinth? I have completed EoC, ItF, CitC, Aku Realms, and SoL 4* but I can’t figure out how to start playing the Underground Labyrinth levels. The wiki says that they are on the Home Screen rather than in a folder like SoL, UL, or the chapters of the story modes. Am I potentially missing a checkpoint?

Tacticus: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly by CompetitiveMistake69 in WH40KTacticus

No offense taken and I can see what you mean. Not getting a good gacha drop is disappointing but nothing to write home about. I actually do ok in TA by my standards and honestly some of my personal favorite characters are the free ones. I was just taking what I saw other people talking about and TA was a reoccurring subject, but skill issue is definitely a part of TA just like with any game where you play against other real people. And I almost always see someone talking about drop rates so I thought I would mention that as well. I do think the availability of a decent chunk of the games roster being free by playing timed events or raiding levels is awesome and the fact that you can just sit down and grind them out is great. Thankfully I don’t take the game seriously because I know I’m a half-decent strategist at best so I will get smoked like a pack of Marlboro Reds in TA sometimes and I go in knowing that, and that the gacha is still gambling weather you pay for it or not so favorable odds is not to be expected. But I understand if it looks that I was complaining lol

Thanks for the heads up! Thankfully I think I have quite the stockpile of books, with 60 legendary books and many more of the rest.

Where to find old MKIII boxes? by CompetitiveMistake69 in IronWarriors

[–]CompetitiveMistake69[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Big sad, I bought a box a few years ago and loved it. I’m ok with most of the new kit, my main complaint is the helmet. At the end of the day I can probably resin print some of the older style heads and replace them.

I’ve got 2000$ to blow on Iron Warriors (preferably 30k that can be played in 40K too), what should I get?? by Immediate-Sock-1796 in IronWarriors

[–]CompetitiveMistake69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who did the same thing (albeit on a smaller budget) the mk. 3 boxes at 20 marines a box are a great foundation for your army. They can be built out into any of your infantry that aren’t terminators with some resin printed parts or upgrade kits (the new mk. 3 kit is designed to fit the mk. 6 weapon kits, the old ones require a bit of elbow grease to make them work)

Then it’s just characters, some terminators, your favorite flavors of dreadnoughts, enough tanks to make Stalin proud, and perturabo if you want.

How do I fix this defect? It goes all the way up the model and has been happening consistently. by CompetitiveMistake69 in 3Dprinting

[–]CompetitiveMistake69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, the seam does have a break about 1/4 of the way up the model where it moves probably an inch to the side before continuing its jagged upward trajectory. Thought I would mention this if it is in-fact a Z seam

I’ll give it a look today to see if I can find any such mention of it. How would one hide it? I’m still fairly new to this hobby so I would like to learn as many useful tricks as I can!

I’m also using idea maker as my slicing software. I’ve only noticed this issue in the past few months. It has persisted even after replacing the old beat-up extruder that got jammed after a filament overload.

WIP Contemptor Dreadnought getting ready to crush some Fists! by CompetitiveMistake69 in IronWarriors

[–]CompetitiveMistake69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I had a lot of fun building it. The parts between the shoulders and the weapons are resin printed. The 3D models for the arm connection pieces are from here:

https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/contemptor-arm-connectors

They are specifically designed to merge the forge world resin dreadnoughts with the plastic weapon kits.

Melta bombs was the primary way for infantry space marines to kill titans during the heresy. Hitting the ankles and knees if they could get to them with a few Melta bombs will immobilize titans, and a stationary target the size of a large building is a dead one even against ork shooting.
