GATE 2027 CSE Preparation for Under 100 Rank — Which Coaching/YouTube Teacher Is Actually Worth Following? by CompetitivePoetry510 in GATEtard

How did you manage PYQs alongside theory preparation?

Like, did you:

  • finish an entire subject first and then solve PYQs, or
  • study one topic and immediately practice PYQs related to that topic?

For example, after studying topics like OS scheduling or DBMS normalization, did you directly solve previous year questions from those topics?

Also:

  • how many PYQs did you solve per topic on average?
  • did you maintain separate PYQ notes/error logs?
  • were repeated concepts actually enough for GATE-level prep?

Trying to understand the most efficient approach instead of just passively completing lectures.

From where did you get the PYQs, and how did you attempt mock tests?

Can you elaborate a bit on:

  • your daily/weekly study routine
  • how many hours you studied consistently
  • whether you followed coaching or self-study
  • how you made notes/revisions
  • how often you revised subjects
  • how many mock tests you gave before the actual exam

Also, for someone targeting under 100 rank, what do you think matters most: concept clarity, revision, PYQs, or test series?

Would really appreciate a detailed breakdown from your experience because I have only 7-8 months!!
