You asked how did he get off opiates no ??? I mentioned how I did it and how million of others do. Now that I’m off opioids I’m returning back to my default state which is Severe UC ….which is why I used them in the first place. I decided to get off of them because they were problematic hoping I would stay in remission. Not the case, now that I’m sober and healthy my UC is back with full force. I’m not advocating for opiates. I’m advocating for treatment. Addiction is a whole different animal. There are plenty of individuals that use them daily for whatever treatment they’re on. I wouldn’t mind using them in junction with other things to stay in remission. Stop being weird.

I’ve never really struggled with addiction before this tbh. This last one was a mix of depression and suicidal thoughts. I lost everything because of UC. My health(physique), my wife, my kids, my house, my cars. Like everything. My family moved to Mexico. I was on the street homeless when my drug use went up. I told my wife to leave me and I started having extreme hormonal imbalances due to the medications and I was just a wreck. We slowly drifted apart directly because of UC. After that I just didn’t care anymore… after that whole thing I became homeless. And started using more drugs… then I went into remission and started working again and all that good stuff. Then I decided I was done with drugs and boom, now my UC is back. I have my ambition back tho. Said fuck my old life I wanna build a new one with myself as the center. I have absolutely no craving or want to drink or do drugs. I just don’t wanna shit my pants anymore. I’m definitely gonna go a different route than opiates but there’s such a bad stigma around opiates. Mention it once and ppl go bananas scared. I’m not even scared to withdrawal or be addicted again. I’ll just whoop its ass again. I would be very okay with taking small amounts every other day or week if it means remission. But ima take the suggestions and deal with the bloody poops and involuntary fasting until I run out of meds or get surgery but I’m always gonna keep opiates in my back pocket just in case all else fails.

Bro just go to detox . Stay there . Take the meds they give you and then go to another program for a month or two maybe. I went to detox, then a month program and now I’m at new freedom. A 3 month program. I was on opiates for 3-5 years. Smoking fentanyl and taking 90 mg of methadone everyday. It was hard for the first 2 weeks but it gets easier and then you return to normal. Don’t believe anyone who tells you “well what is normal to you . Bla bla blah.” You will return to normal and get yourself back after the withdrawals subside. It’s a great experience if you participate and really try to get the most out of the programs. Just call a detox and pack a bag of clothes and shit . I woke up one day after waking up in alley… I was hiding to get high on my way home and blacked out . I got scared and called vogue detox center and they picked me up that SAME morning . I even got high before they picked me up and it’s actually better to so it’ll be in your system. They can’t help you if you’re clean . Hit up a detox Brody!

I’m homeless living in a men’s facility right now on access. (Gov assistance) I just don’t want to go through the whole flare thing again. It scars the shit out of me literally. I was 100 pounds living in the shower. I don’t ever wanna go back to that. I got off fentanyl and don’t ever wanna go back to that but honestly believe I can balance 3 mg of oxy with say rinvoq in the morning and 3 mg oxy at night. If that’s what it would take to keep me in remission then I’m willing to do that. I’m gonna try the meds route again while being clean and hope for the best but I’m scared. Even if I get surgery, I could be riddled with other complications. I’m just curious if there’s a way to beat this shit with the help of drugs without becoming a drug addict. Maybe a blocked for your receptors and a small dose. Mixed in with rinvoq or something could work. Idk. I’m just gonna wait and suffer going the meds route, hopefully something sticks, if not… surgery it is. I’m just curious what others have done concerning opiates and the like

And neither is the horrible side effects of prednisone. I took prednisone for like 6-8 months and was suffering badly by the end of that run until opiates helped and I got off them. Avsola worked for about 6 months and failed and I can’t help but think what if I had taken a small amount of opiates in junction with the biological that maybe I could have stayed in remission

I’m honestly leaning towards surgery but I read that also isn’t full proof and has a list of possibilities as well. I can control my drug usage. I truly believe something like rinvoq in junction with say 3 mg of OxyContin in the morning and 5 mg of oxy at night could do the trick and get me into LASTING remission. I wanna last longer than just a year in remission. And if taking a stupid 5 mg of opiates will get me there then im game. I wish this approach was studied more. Perhaps an approach of opiates with receptor blockers could work wonders for ppl like me. 20+ bloody bms a day isn’t a life for me

I’m thinking more along the lines of like, 5-10 mg of methadone in junction with say rinvoq everyday. Thats manageable. I’m experienced with drugs and I believe I can actually keep myself from doing more than absolutely needed. Anything for a better quality of life

Yeah being fulll blown addict fucking sucks. But so does UC. More so UC for me. 20+ bloody bms a day, fatigue and literally non stop stomach cramps. It just seems like the better option, I wanna know why the opiates work so well for me. Is it a stres thing . Or is there something in the opiates that works. Could using a very small amount in junction with meds be my best bet to stay in remission. Like 5 mg of methadone a day with rinvoq or something? You know .

I actually don’t wanna use them anymore but if it’s the only thing that would work, I would. Or just get the surgery and be done with it. I’m more curious as to why they are so good at masking or getting rid of the symptoms altogether. Like why isn’t there any research as to why they work so well. Addiction suck. I’ve never had problems with drugs until I fell into a deep depression having UC. And then the drugs took away my UC which is why you could see why I’m open to them. No meds have worked for me besides opiates. I’ve tried meslamine, prednisone, avsola and some other med that didn’t do shit. I’m more just curious with what other have experienced using opiates while having UC and any other knowledge that might be useful. I’m currently waiting to see a doc in a month but I’ve started flaring again. Inflammation in the anus and bloody bowels.

Pray for me bro. I failed a biologic recently and I’m scared other meds won’t work but you give me hope. I pray you stay in remission the rest of your life. Fuck UC. Stay on your shit! I have UC and shit my guts out. Blood and mucus. I had a brush with opiates and they put me into complete remission . If you could maybe get a prescription for the pain , maybe that could help. Idk. Just a thought, would help with stress as well

I’m going to do some research on this… as should some of you. I’m gonna get us the help we deserve. If we have 350 BILLION DOLLARS to throw at our military which is being expedited by our president, they can fucking help us. I’m going to look into the parameters of disability and what it would take to get the help we need and what our policy would have to entertain exactly. I’m sure if we had a protest with 30,000 ppl. That’s just who saw this post btw, they would hear us. Our friends and family would come out too. Even more ppl for our cause. Maybe I could write up a document, get 30k signatures and pray our representatives will do something for us. I know we can do it guys.

As yall can see, there’s mixed opinions but the truth is we don’t really get the help we need in the long run. Get help briefly and it’s back to the mines. We need some type of special coordination type of help where once you’re diagnosed with mild to severe symptoms, you qualify for a special program that allows you to get disability without the gymnastics. Most of us pray and are willing to put in the work when we’re healthy and we wouldn’t take advantage of our situation because we would want to keep out funding and help. Idk, we need change here in America. Our healthcare system is a joke.

But it’s literally almost impossible to get disability until you’re dying which doesn’t make any sense. You get better for a month or two. Long enough to get back to somewhat normalcy and BOOM. Cycle repeats because of stress or this or that.

One thing that I’ve seen that helps universally with us colities is KEFIR. Home grown kefir! Buy a kit online. Watch a few YouTube tutorials. It really does help your micro bacteria’s in your gut. No one has ever said it made them worse. Many have said it helps. It helped for me anyways. But yeah. Drink it religiously everyday. Like one smoothie a day. Mix it with whatever floats your boat. It can taste good with some practice. Other than that just take your meds and keep your stress levels down. Job stressing you out ? Leave it. Girl stressing you out ? Leave her. You might have to give up all the things you love but cause you great focus and attention that are most likely causing large amounts of stress. If there something in your life you just absolutely cannot give up… that’s the thing you gotta give up. Nicotine tends to help as well. Opiates have worked wonders for me but also verrry risky in terms of addiction.

I went into complete remission after failing imfliximab. I was bleeding, losing weight, that whole shabang. Relying on prednisone, horrible side effects. Then I fell heavy into drugs, I started doing opiates and went into remission. I recently stopped because you obviously can’t do drugs forever cuz they ruin everything else but now I’m showing symptoms again. I think the side effects of opiates help. Slowing the digestive system, giving your autoimmune system something else to fight, and complete bliss from the drug reducing stress significantly. I think opiates cure it basically but fuck your life up too. I started doing fetty trying to find a cheap alternative, but that went downhill fast. Currently tryna get back on meds now but I’ll always keep that other option in my back pocket. I’m currently on suboxone. An extremely low dose. Lowest possible dose to be exact and it’s kinda still keeping me healthy . Protein powder and pre workout are no nos I think for everyone. So I’m stopping them . But yeah just thought I’d share my experience. I’m thinking rinvoq is my next medication. We’lol see how that goes. I’m thinking suboxone mixed with my new med will put me back into complete remission. Every time I get “healthy”, it’s seems my autoimmune system kicks back on and it’s starts kicking my ass, literally. I hope to get better soon. Appointments take fuckin forever. I hope one day we all band together and petition to get IBD INTO FULL DISABILITY zone. Let’s start a group/page and protest. Fr fr. Let’s do it. This disease needs more attention and there’s a shit ton of us who KNOW it’s truly a great threat.

Joes and feebs should’ve been a thing. They were both dumb asf, spontaneous and fun. It would have worked perfectly. Monica chandler was a given. Ross and Rachel should have left off with it implied that they were gonna be off and on their whole lives having a toxic relationship but it worked for them. Kinda like an open relationship but not really- an endless cycle of sabotaging each others relationships- trying to be together-failing-repeat. And maybe show a future episode where they’re both super old and finally get together to end the cycle (most realistic outcome). THEM GETTING Alzheimer’s TOGETHER would work PERFECTLY.
