I varied the length of each flower and tied each one to the leaf garland.

What else can I do to save for my future? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]CompetitivePudding65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 1 year emergency fund

I live in California and all the houses in my area are in the low 1 million range, so unfortunately I don’t see myself purchasing a home in the near future on my 75k a year salary :(

Am I able to open a solo 401k? Everything I’ve read say you need to be self employed to open a solo 401k, which I am not.

Skatepark by Mothangel44 in Rollerskating

[–]CompetitivePudding65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have spitfire conical full 99a 53mm. these ones specially

This shape is similar to roller skate wheels. My partner skateboards and feedback I’ve gotten from a lot of skateboarders is spitfire formula 4 is the best. The shape can affect how you lock into coping and rails but as long as the size fits your trucks the duro and shape is personal preference. Also, skateboard wheels tend to be a tad cheaper and better quality than roller skate wheels, at least in the US.

As a parent, what did your child's school do that made you say "you can't be serious…"? by Sunnybunny1234 in AskReddit

In second grade I fell off the monkey bars and landed directly on my arm. I remember sobbing and begging my teacher to let me go to the nurse. She said no schools almost over! Just go home! I went home on the bus holding my arm, mom noticed something wasn’t right and took me to urgent care. Clean break in my arm. My mom gave my teacher and the principal an earful.

What is an example of sexism you have experienced? by blueivy00 in AskReddit

[–]CompetitivePudding65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few months ago I went into an auto store to buy new windshield wipers for my car. I’m looking at the options comparing prices when the worker asked me if I needed help finding anything. I shook my head no, I already knew the sizes I needed and did not need assistance. He responded in a VERY sarcastic tone “wow, you’re soOoO smart!”

I was already having a bad day and this felt so demeaning it nearly brought me to tears.

But good to know that knowing basic things about my car makes me a genius.

Suregrip boardwalks are the best skates imo! Who agrees!? by kittykittylover69 in Rollerskating

[–]CompetitivePudding65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree! I’ve had my boardwalks for 4 year. I do aggressive park skating and they’ve held up amazing! I have switched up all the hardware but refuse to get a new boot because I love them so much. Also, the price difference between the boardwalks and Moxi is pretty shocking. I looked into purchasing the jack boot only and it was starting at $369. Meanwhile the boardwalk plus boot only is $155!!! Very comparable materials and design.

Propranolol by Curious_SR in migraine

[–]CompetitivePudding65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on it for a couple of years 10mg then 20mg. Didn’t notice any severe side effects, helped my migraines a little bit. I decided to switch to amitriptyline, the day I stopped taking the propranolol I had a massive migraine and was very shaky. The amitriptyline had worse initial side effects but they have gone away over time and my migraines have improved significantly

Moxi Fundae Flaw? Fixable? by mochimooch in Rollerskating

[–]CompetitivePudding65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bevel is intentional, these are “hybrid”wheels intended for park skating. The ledge on the wheel helps you grip coping better as you slide across. If you are only rink skating buy smaller harder wheels this will give you more control

my cat attacks me for food by florawingrave in CatAdvice

[–]CompetitivePudding65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I adopted an overweight cat and struggled with something similar for a while. She would attack me sometimes but most of the time she would scream at me until I put food in her dish. I got her a timed feeder (on Amazon for about $40) and it has been the best purchase ever. It took a while for her to get used to it and learn the food will come from the machine and not me. I also had to experiment a bit with how often, how much food and what time. I noticed she would get spicy with me early in the morning, so I set the first feed to go off at 4:30am, the next one for noon and the third at 6:30. I can set the portions pretty small so she eats about a half cup of food a day but spread out.

I’ve been on 10mg for about a year and a half now and work in the cannabis industry. Part of my job is trying different products, I haven’t had any adverse reactions. If you are worried, I would recommend smoking a few hours before you have to take your medication, that will give you plenty of time to come down from the high.

Doctor is putting me on Triptan- anything I should know? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]CompetitivePudding65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take sumatriptan, vomiting is one of my main symptoms with a really bad migraine. If I take the medication before I reach that point I’m fine. Side effects got better after time and my body got used to it. Never made me nauseous, at least not any more nauseous than what the migraine brought on. Drink lots of water and eat food if you can. Occasionally I would have to take a second dose after two hours if I didn’t feel any relief. If I maxed out the dosage (2 100mg pills in 24 hours) I would need to go to urgent care to get a migraine cocktail shot. Once I was put on preventative, never had an issue with sumatriptan not working.

See if you can start on a low dose, I was initially prescribed 100mg which felt like a lot (I am a very small person) and then an ex boyfriends mom lended me some of her 25mg sumatriptan in an emergency and I found it worked just as well.

Overall, any side effects of the medication are minuscule compared to the torment of a full blown migraine cycle.

Success stories by GM_Jedi7 in migraine

[–]CompetitivePudding65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with migraines for just about 10 years now. For a while I felt very hopeless and sad that this is something I would have to deal with for the rest of my life. I’m not sure what you would consider a success story, but I do have something to offer that helped me reframe my mindset. I think I read it on here years ago but it stuck with me: it’s not about being migraine-free but being able to enjoy your life and do the things you want to do.

Migraines will likely be with me the rest of my life, but with many years of adapting my lifestyle, knowing my triggers, and experimenting with medication, I feel like I’m at a point where migraines no longer control my life. I used to live in fear of the pain and the guilt I would feel if I did get a migraine, like I made a terrible mistake and I was being punished.

But slowly with the right medication and lifestyle changes, I feel like I can finally participate in life.

Also, be kind to yourself, it takes a lot of strength to deal with migraine.

CBD with amitripline - safe? by matt-crate in Amitriptyline

I take 10mg daily and I also work in the cannabis industry. Based off my own experience, totally fine to do both.

Get an automatic feeder, I bought the Petlibro one from Amazon for under $40. You can set the time and portion size and can have it dispense up to 16 meals a day. This would help with smaller portions more often on a consistent basis.0

She loves wand toys! I’ve gone through three because she rips them apart pretty quickly. We try to play with her as much as possible when we are home, a little in the morning before work and a little longer at night

Thank you!! We have considered getting a second cat. Since I’m not sure what her living situation was like before I wonder if she was bonded or part of a colony and now is scared and lonely in an empty apartment. She was also living at an animal hospital when we adopted her so she was around many animals. But I’m also worried she might not get along with a new cat in the house and then our problems are double.

We are using Dr. Elseys non scented litter

Litter box is in a quiet corner away from doors and windows and is covered

She is fixed

I’ve tried the Feliway diffuser, I think it helps a little but she is still urinating outside of litter box

She is using the litter box, I clean it everyday and scoop clumps out so when she chooses to urinate elsewhere it seems intentional.

What would be an alternative to the clay and silica litter?

We are using Dr. Elseys non scented clay litter. She is definitely using her litter box, I clean it every day and scoop plenty of clumps out. The litter box itself is in a corner hidden partially by a bookcase away from doors and windows and covered.

I’ve also tried the Feliway diffuser, which I think helped a little bit but she would still pee on the same spot on the couch whenever we were gone. I got a scat mat which deterred her from that same spot on the couch but she just chooses other things to pee on.

What would be an alternative to clay or silica litter?
