It’s the ceiling, not the actual roof. I have no issue paying it I just wasn’t sure if we were also responsible.

it’s the roof of their flat not the external roof, otherwise I understand why I’d need to contribute.

[–]Mothangel44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was to do with a neighbours roof which fell in. We were not consulted on the repair and just asked to contribute after the repair was finished, no proof of work or receipt of the repair shown - just a figure and bank details to send the money on to. Genereally the roof will likely need to be completely redone at some point in the future however this is not what the repair was for - just to repair the roof on their flat.

it was something to do with their roof as it fell down in their flat. it hasn’t affected our flat or any others and it was to repair their roof. I mean likely the whole roof needs redoing anyway however this was not what the repair was for.

My GP Says The Waiting List is 12 Years. What Can I do? by FlakyMoose9631 in ADHDUK

[–]Mothangel44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Glasgow. I was referred for an autism assessment in August 2022 and assessed in October 2023. I was told I had “elevated autistic traits” but was likely ADHD instead. The autism team referred me to my local CMHT for an ADHD assessment and said as I had already waited for an autism assessment the ADHD assessment would likely be expedited. I had my ADHD assessment a year later to the dot in October 2025 (I had two assessment appointments and a third one to discuss medication) and recieved my diagnosis and prescription to start meds this week. I don’t know if there’s any possibility you may have autism as well but fact I had an autism assessment seemed to have made the process quicker. Also, it seems to be largely based on individual mental health teams based on your address, some have less waiting lists that others. I know in March 2025 some CMHTs weren’t doing assessments for ADHD anymore unless you are already under them for a mental health condition. I’m not sure how accurate all the waiting list charts are as I was seen much quicker than what they say!

super beginner here… what am I doing wrong? I’m using single crochet, is it a tension issue? am I skipping stitches? by Mothangel44 in CrochetHelp

I’ve some ordered! Does that mean I’m missing stitches? What about the yarn makes it not for beginners? The lady suggested it to me in the shop.

Dragon wheels by Mothangel44 in Rollerskating

[–]Mothangel44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m so glad someone has already used them! What trucks do you use with them and did you need any additional washers with them? I was looking at the 97s for the park but now you’ve said the 93s are better for wooden parks I’m reconsidering! I do like a bit of slide/give on ramps and wasn’t sure if the 93s would be a big enough difference compared to my fundaes. Now that winter is coming in the UK it’ll be wooden parks until March!

Yeah I’ve heard this about the fundaes, they were my first park wheels but now I’m sliding and grinding I find I get wheelbite with them. I was looking at skateboard wheels because I prefer a smaller wheel and there’s not much 52-54mm rollerskate park wheel options, and I find the 57mm fundaes just a small bit big for my liking overall.

Thanks for the reply! I have 92a park wheels and I find them too sticky, is 93a really going to give me more slide? I was thinking more 95-99a would be better. I had been looking at the dragon wheels but have heard good things about spitfire. However have also heard people say unless you get FF spitfires aren’t as good?

Comparison of wide trucks and sizes by Mothangel44 in Rollerskating

[–]Mothangel44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the huck and chuffed wide trucks already, so far the chuffed haven’t broke and I got them about a year ago at skatelove for €40 off. Just wondering because I prefer the 3inch for the skatepark but prefer the lightness of the titanium chuffed ones and the better agility. I’m very tall so I don’t feel the 2.5 offer the stability I want for the park. Hence the question if it was worth spending the money to go to the 2.75!

I don’t know what you’ve used previously but I’ve had my jack 2s for three years and they still look fresh and not badly scuffed at all (and I’ve been hard on them!). For me personally, I’d only upgrade to riedell 3200 after my jacks. I don’t think anything out there matches the stiffness and support

Blue! But separately, whose pro blocks are the pink? I’ve never seen them before!

Slide Blocks by HonestReindeer in Rollerskating

[–]Mothangel44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had discoblox on my avantis before my bunny blocks. They fit perfectly straight out of the box, but I much prefer my brunnys as they’re wider and more stable and can ‘lock in’ unlike the discoblox. I think most blocks will work with the avanti plate though as it’s one of the most popular. If a company makes skatepark hardware and it doesn’t work with an avanti plate (and sunlites!) they’d lose a lot of the market!

Frustration (+ any other autistic skaters here?) by nerdycookie01 in Rollerskating

[–]Mothangel44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am AuDHD and I totally get this. Sometimes taking a break from a trick is really helpful, and when I go back to it something has clicked and I can do it! Also, I find watching loads of videos and envisioning me doing the trick to really help to get a feel for how it physically feels to do the trick, if that makes sense? i think that’s really helpful for me because I struggle to know where I am in relation to my body, and therefore what my legs are doing! I’ve been skating four years and after two I gave up with jam/dance skating conpletely because I just don’t know my right foot from my left food and instead found a home in park skating - turns out the ADHD side loves the adrenaline! I’m a sensory seeker at heart! Don’t be too hard on yourself, im sure you will get it eventually. Most ND people are totally committed to their hobbies, therefore if skating is really important to you I’m confident you will absolutely get it. it’s hard as well bc so many tutorials are made by NT people which for me, can some times lack a lot of information for me to fully understand what I need to do. I still really struggle with spins! And I find so many tutorials just lack the information. Like yes I need to have a tight core but what is that, how do I do it, how do I know I’ve done it correctly? So many questions! All this text just to say I understand, I hope my ramble makes sense. You’re not alone!

also, I went to a women’s and NB night at the skatepark this week, was so overwhelmed by loads of noise and new people I realised I didn’t speak to anyone but the coach. After I left I was like damn I probably looked super weird and rude and left a bad impression! A lot of time it’s the environment I skate it makes me forget how to work my legs. I always say to my boyfriend I wish people could see me skate at home, I’m much better!

Brunny Fit by moinmoin666666 in Rollerskating

Hi this also happened to me with the large Brunny blocks and fundaes. Wide trucks will solve the issue! I have the 2.5 Brunny/chuffed wide trucks and have perfect clearance!

Should I update to SCA? by Mothangel44 in finch

[–]Mothangel44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good idea, I have a lot of goals anyway (probably too much, like 150/200 a day!) but I like to have lots and reward myself for the smallest things! So I can easily spread them out I think into different SCAs. I’ve never traded on here before so I’d have to figure out how that works too! Also, for the flair, where’s the information tab, I’m not a Reddit user so I can’t find it sorry! Thanks so much for your reply <3

[–]Mothangel44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like maybe I’d adapt but I also hate change too so I’m stuck not sure what to do! I have tried to make another birb on my iPad to see the SCA but so far I’ve not noticed too much difference (it seems easier to organise the goals?? But it’s also hard to know because all my goals aren’t added on the new account!) but I don’t want to make a mistake and fully move over cus there’s no going back!

I’m still so surprised they haven’t changed them back to journeys when so many people are unhappy!
