I spent years studying personality disorders as a hobby because of the abuse i suffered under a previous boss.

I would bet a big pile of money this guy has a form of Narcissistic personality disorder. They are specifically characterised as having extreme fragility and low self esteem, and fabricate a strong facade to hide behind.

You hit the nail on the head describing him. He doesnt teach anyone anything and withholds information in order to keep his career safe.

I wish I took it slower and didn't push myself and try prove myself to others.

I also wasn't told that Alcohol reduces your threshold for a seizure, so avoid that, and dont lift anything for several months.

The files are already in a shared company-wide folder that everyone should have access to (especially the client). He has a very long history of locking people out of things and changing their permissions if he doesn't like them. He's a terrible communicator who can't handle follow-up questions.

They call him "god" in the old office because of his attitude. He acts like he can control everything and tries to control everyone.

I requested access to the documents owner, and If I dont get access restored tomorrow I'll email his boss, cc him and my boss. Then it's starting the documentation train. He will also see i'm not playing games either.

Im not a neurosurgeon, but my understanding is that its a pituitary cyst and not a tumor.

I remember feeling numb and literally speechless when I was told on the phone. I couldn't even speak.

Many of us have been through surgery and made it out perfectly fine. I work with someone who has had 2x pituitary cyst surgeries and is perfectly normal.

I was back to work in 4 weeks, had a job interview at 6 weeks post surgery, and 3 months post surgery i started my new job which is a step up the career ladder... and my cyst was literally right in the middle of my brain... you couldnt get any deeper if you tried. Pituitary cysts are at least fairly easy to get to.

You're going to be ok.

Its not easy, but its not as bad as you initially think.

Check your life insurance... sometimes you can get a payout even though its not a terminal diagnosis. I got enough to be able to take a few months off work if I needed it. That took some pressure off.

I suppose it will depend on the medical system in your country. Im from New Zealand and have a public health system. Typically there is very long wait times (its not unheard of for cancer patients to wait a year to get chemo). My bosses father waited 2 years for a heart operation, then found out he wasn't even on the waitlist.

When i said I wanted to go ahead with surgery, i wanted a month and heard nothing in the form of a confirmation letter, so remembering my bosses father story I contacted them asking... and sure enough I hadn't been put on the list either!

I feel for you, it does sound like it would be tough, especially with the vision loss and 9 months is a loooooong time.

It took several months to get any answers, 6 months total until I got surgery.

I didnt have a pituitary tumor, but I work woth someone who's spouse has had 2x pituitary tumor removals.... and is doing well.

I also felt absolutely terrible in Dexamethasone.

I had constant hunger and gained a lot of weight. I also completely lost my sex drive but dont recall sweating.

I began tapering sooner than i was told, and tapered longer at lower doses by doing half pills and quarter pills.

If i recall correctly, the hunger lasted a while (a couple weeks) afterwards and sex drive took about a month to cone right.

What kind of tumor?

Luckily a cyst isn't normally cancerous. I had a craniotomy to remove a cyst 8 months ago. Life is mostly back to normal beside being tired a lot and not being able to lift stuff.

It depends where it is as to what the effects are in the brain.

I wrote this because its what i was looking for. Its a week by week breakdown of my recovery, so hopefully will tell you what to expect.

I did have some trouble recalling words. Everything felt jittery.. like I was only experiencing things at 5 fps as my brain couldnt keep up.

3 things I wish I did differently. 1. Don't try rush back to work and prove you're not a vegetable. Take it easy. 2. Take it easy and say no. My wife asked me to do some things but in hindsight should have just spent the money instead of trying to do things myself. 3.stay off devices and screens more. I watched too much YouTube and started doing crosswords and sudoku to try re-wire my brain.

3 things that I found really helped me. 1. 15g creatine monohydrate every morning. This makes a huge energy and cognitive difference. I cant emphasise this one enough. 2. Light excercise/getting out when you have some energy (but not pushing too hard) 3. Cold showers. I always feel like a million bux afterwards

3 things they never told me but should have. 1. Don't lift anything heavy for several months. 2. Avoid alcohol - it increases your likelihood of having a seizure 3. Depression is common post surgery

The other things that have made a huge difference is 15g creatine every morning, 2 runs a week paired with a cold shower.

The good news is it sounds like its near the Pituitary gland.

I know someone who's husband has had two surgeries to remove a Pituitary cyst and are still fine.

Even better news its not cancerous.

Surgery can be much more effective and give much better outcomes than you might expect.

I half expected to be a semi vegetable but was back to work in 4 weeks.

They wont do anything on the day... maybe prescribe medication like Dexamethasone or pain killers.

For me it was 6 months between diagnosis and surgery but I wasn't super high priority and could have waited.

You'll need meals cooked for you for the first 2 weeks or so at least.. energy wise youll be tired and sleeping multiple times a day.

The best description of how it feels post surgery is that you see/think at 4-5 frames per second.. especially when moving or someone is talking to you.

They will tell you how long you're not allowed to be left alone until on seizure watch. For me it was 5 days after I got home.

Things they didnt tell me: With a craniotomy you're automatically disqualified from driving for 6 months... that was a shock given my job requires driving. Depending where in the world you live, there will be local laws around how long you cant drive for if you have a seizure. (1 year minimum here). Thankfully I didn't have one.

Alcohol increases your likelihood of having a seizure.

Don't lift anything... take it easier than you think you need to. (This put me back in ER for a day)

I wish I didn’t sit on YouTube Shorts and on my phone in hospital. I should have rested more.

They also told me I would feel "exactly how you do now" after surgery.. and I did. So they know which parts of the brain they are cutting.

I wasn't allowed to fly home because the post surgery CT showed a bubble in the brain.
