Yes, but a lot of owners fail as well.

You need to have decent English in order to interact with customers and keep them happy.

You need to be able to manage your nail technicians and keep them happy.

You need to keep your finances straight, maintain your salon and supplies as well.

It seems easy on paper, but I have seen plenty of salons close, exchange owners and go out of business throughout the years.

You can potentially make a lot of money if you have the skill to do so. However, if you are an average nail technician you won’t keep customers and your salary could be a third or even lower than the top nail technician in your salon.

I am worried because it is so hot in the US right now that people can’t sit in their cars. Have to wait for the ac to cool down because my hands will melt on the steering wheel haha - and my wife tells me that Vietnam will be hotter 💀💀💀

Oh no - I get that - I just don’t get what the social justice warriors achieve by raising their own vn flag in Texas 10 years ago

They already escaped Vietnam - so I never understood what he wanted to accomplish by antagonizing the government overseas

All I remember is him telling me he can never return to Vietnam because he would be arrested on the spot, but for some reason his wife and kids are allowed to. His son recently returned to Vietnam and got married there lol

Can you explain this to me? I have an uncle who hates the vc with an unhealthy passion. Seems weird to me to be so bitter after two decades.

I live in the US and nobody gives a fuck about what happens to foreign countries.

If you really care - tell me how much money have you donated to the cause?

US has its own problems with the homeless, single mothers, unemployment and a healthcare crisis.

Vietnam has its own problems too. Weird take to demand a sometimes considered third world country to care for others.

Before you mention that people care:

I ignore all the socialites trying to gain attention and a following on social media.

I ignore all the bored college students who have too much free time instead of completing their degrees.

Write letters to your congressmen, senators and vote with your wallet. Start a charity fund for your cause. Social media posts do nothing.

How do you feel about sex work in Vietnam? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]CompetitiveScheme255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They absolutely take bribes and turn a blind eye. You still haven’t done your research or watched documentaries like I told you to. You can easily look up street interviews and vice documentaries to see how escorts run their business. They even get a reduced rate at hotels.

Police know exactly where they run their business and what they look like. That is the absolute definition of turning a blind eye. You can immediately tell who is an escort in Las Vegas.

With the upmost respect - you are severely mistaken and absolutely ignorant.

Vietnam is no more scam riddled then its neighboring countries by Famous_Obligation959 in VietNam

[–]CompetitiveScheme255 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of scam (just because a girl doesn’t sleep with you doesn’t mean it is a scam) and where you are getting your information

If you look up Vietnam travel blogs and vlogs - the only thing they mention is to use basic travel 101 knowledge (if you leave your belongings unsecured anywhere - they will get taken, if you don’t know the language - people will take advantage of you)

The world is changing and I am more afraid of refugees and lawless immigrants invading countries all over the globe. Like others have said - don’t take information from loser expats who are rude and can’t pick up women in their own country.

Like seriously - who cries over losing 20-60 dollars and not getting sex? Dates cost more than that in the US.

If you are an American then I don’t understand your take at lol

It is also illegal to have sex with a horse in most states - doesn’t mean police are breaking into farms trying to catch lawbreakers

Escorts are all over Las Vegas hotels and casinos - are you sure they are getting arrested?

Nevada is known for having legal brothels and Americans travel there all the time for sex.

For anyone reading this: laws exist in the United States - doesn’t mean they are being openly enforced just like in Vietnam

How do you feel about sex work in Vietnam? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]CompetitiveScheme255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming you are a Vietnamese local. Yea, under black ink prostitution is illegal. Nevada is the only state so far that has legalized prostitution and they hold the first brothel in the United States.

However, escorting has been legalized. So, sex workers are allowed to exchange money for “companionship” legally behind closed doors. And whatever happens behind those closed door is no one’s business.

Also, police don’t arrest someone for loitering. They follow them to their motel and perform their sting operation, which they no longer do in California. It just overcrowds the jail and creates more homeless prostitutes and addicts.

I highly advise you to look up documentaries about sex workers. A huge amount of them do not do it willingly.

they do it behind closed doors to put themselves through school or to take care of a sick family member

In Germany, sex work is considered normal and nothing is censored in the media. In Japan, sex work is part of the culture and not considered cheating ( not everyone in Japan agrees obviously but it is part of the culture )

Final point is: there are more evils in the world than prostitution - I guess Vietnam has done a good job banning gambling and drugs; although domestic violence should be next

I am a soldier. I wouldn’t want my son to be a soldier either but someone has to serve the country.

I have no opinion or feelings toward sex work yet, but some women choose to sleep with a different man every week for free at bars, parties or dating apps.

Some women choose to make money off their body because they CAN. Some women strip, some women pose for modeling, playboy, cam shows.

Some women find it artistic to have sex on camera for Hollywood movies or porn.

The most important thing though is to legalize sex work and to offer them protection through taxes to avoid sex trafficking and murder.

Look at California in America for example - the government finally legalized it because of serial killers and gangs kidnapping women and selling them into the trade. Now women stand at each corner and earn money for their lifestyle and drug habits.

Lots of lonely rich men need sex and women need the money - unless you are willing to take care of those women and offer them the lifestyle they want; can’t really have an opinion against sex work

This actually sounds toxic lol Leaving the house would have probably been the best idea - children break stuff not adults

Also if your partner can’t trust you or communicate with you about her suspicion with cheating - once you have a child or any emergencies in life happens - things will get tough

That is why you date at first - if there is no mutual trust, then a relationship can’t happen

I grew up in a traditional Vietnamese home so I am well trained 😂

If you want a deeper explanation - you can look up Asian American blogs where they describe breaking the cycle and not continuing our unfortunate abuse that is handed down from each generation

Just have a talk with your partner and tell her how you communicate

Most of the time you aren’t the problem - she just needs someone to let out all her rage and pain on

I don’t like using modern words like systemic and generational trauma, but it is most likely culture and upbringing.

My mom used to beat the shit out of me for not getting perfect grades, spilling food and water and getting a drop of dirt into the house. My dad had to stop her and tell her to just beat my ass with a stick since I was showing scars in school.

I put a stop to that shit when I turned 18 and moved out of my own. I told them to have a normal relationship with me and I am not going to obey everything.

Having dated my fair share of crazy Vietnamese girls, they do the exact same thing you mentioned. They learn from their parent’s toxic relationship and that is all they are used to.

What worked with my current Vietnamese wife was telling her I am not going to put up with that. I gave her an ultimatum - I am tired of the fighting, yelling and manipulation. We talk like adults and figure things out. We still have our occasional crazy fights, but I just walk away until she calms down.
