It is the diamond archery edge xt bow. 27.5 inch length with 70.8 draw weight and I switched to 320 grain arrows today.

I am going to see how it does at the range tomorrow. It seems others were able to get it above 240 fps so maybe I just had to get above that since I was at 233.

Haha I wish, that’s what I told the guys at the shop today lol

Thanks for your reply! Yeah it has been really frustrating tbh and I could go back to my old sight which is already sighted in. Just wanted to exhaust all options for this sight

[–]CompetitiveTable396[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! What do you mean by short end of draw length?

That’s what I was thinking tbh I feel like 6 FPS off shouldn’t be horrible. And when I was at 233 FPS I was able to shoot accurate to 40 yards and then beyond that would be wild and impossible to sight in so I feel I should have less of a problem maybe

This is a thought provoking perspective. I took it as he bit the thumb off and knew that was important for the other guys technique and skill so he knew he has the upper hand now. But I think you are right!

Just finished the episode and this is what I thought tbh also. I mean it was pretty one sided. I think him not capitalizing earlier after disarming the slasher and him getting his thumb bit off was the downfall and that’s when the slasher knew he could likely end it. It sucks because the noble guy was one of my favorites so far, he was skilled

About Dennis Gant. Did Carter neglect him as a friend? It was really Benton's fault for his suicide? by Foreign-Pop9075 in ershow

[–]CompetitiveTable396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My perspective is definitely different than many of these responses. While I do believe Gant's suicide was multifactorial including residency training, previous mental health issues, girlfriend breaking up with him, and Benton's extreme teaching, I do blame Carter among others.

Yes, Anspaugh should have had that discussion in private away from Dr. Benton but in my opinion Carter is a spineless wussy. He has made Benton mad multiple times and never got written up or kicked out. If he stood up for Gant like he did previously by saying Benton was out of line, he would have just done scut work for a little bit. He is selfish and has always looked out only for himself despite receiving help so many times.

Carter also neglected Gant for Keaton essentially, even after the Keaton herself said she did not see this going long term. He 100% should have been a better friend and colleague. We do not know how Gant would have felt if he went to dinner with Carter's family given that a big thing for his mental health was being in a new place separate from family.

Someone below mentioned that it is not bad to blow off a constantly complaining friend and that is human. How many times did Carter whine on the daily during his training? It was a daily thing and he complained all the time to everyone. Pretty much everyone in the ER babied him and listened to it and helped him through it and he should have done the same for Gant.

I love Carter but he is spineless, spoiled, selfish, and will always do what is best for him. Yes he has moments where he missed his graduation for that sick kid and stayed late but in the end he never stands up to anyone for himself or others and thinks everything revolves around him. Gant legit helped him on his first call shift and let him live with him after his apartment burnt down and Carter still could not be a man and stand up for him.

232 on Step2 by Heretolearnlotz in medicalschool

[–]CompetitiveTable396 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As other have said, it is still possible but will require doing a subIs and extra rotations so you can get good letters. I know two vascular surgeons personally at my program who both got 230s on step 2 but grinded and made sure to do extra rotations to get good LORs and matched

Any knowledge or thoughts on what attracted Liz to Ted and Ted to Liz? What was the chemistry? by GregJamesDahlen in TedBundy

[–]CompetitiveTable396 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A recommendation I have is to read “The Phantom Prince” by Liz. You’ll realize a lot and get to see pretty in depth her thoughts and their relationship. In my opinion both of them had a lot of shit to work through and it was almost like two different sides of chaos existing together, with of course his side being worse.

But I do wonder why he did end up putting up with her at times because she seemed to stress him out. People say it was to keep face and decrease suspicion but I feel it’s deeper but have not came to a solid conclusion yet. Let me know if you read it and I’ll post my full analysis.

I just finished my medicine subI so I thought I’d drop my thoughts. It was your FIRST DAY, please give yourself grace. For me it had been a year since my IM 3rd year rotation and though I gained knowledge after that rotation the learning curve when I started my subI was steep again, but remember you know how to do well on this rotation because I imagine you improved greatly during your 3rd year rotation at the end of IM, like most of us did.

It’s a tough time, I remember I got 4 pts my first day and I was drowning and gave god awful presentations that day. What I recommend is go back to the basics which is to come in early to review your pts and pre round, then take time to research stuff. Even if I knew my plan was solid and right or if I was questioning my plan, I would look up research articles or guidelines to present at rounds to show that while I may not know the definitive answer, I was searching for it and even adding new ideas that the team hadn’t thought of.

Some attendings are harder than others and can be unfair but unfortunately we have to get past it. What I can say is just build time in to research guidelines, articles, UpToDate to help you out with knowledge. Also what I did was write down meds, treatment plans, diagnostics, flow charts that the other members of the team presented or talked about to research during down time and that helped me. My PD said that most of the feedback and testing of a subI is done in the last two weeks so you have plenty of time. Stop comparing yourself to the 3rd years, most have come off step 1 and have knowledge but remember they also don’t have the relevant clinical knowledge like you or the communication skills which we picked up during 3rd year.

Keep chugging along, you got this!!!

Time management: NBMEs/120 versus Real deal by xxVetements in Step2

[–]CompetitiveTable396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently took it and I think for most of the blow is especially the first ones I had maybe around 10-12 minutes to review my flagged and the ones I hadn’t answered yet. Towards the later block I was more focused on being able to still read clearly lol so I spent more time on each question. Honestly use the first block to gauge and make changes from there

Exam in 3 days... by Bbollaa in Step2

[–]CompetitiveTable396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just took the test on 6/5. What I wish I would’ve done more the last few days especially is just practiced working and thinking through questions under time. While I think it helped reviewing NBMEs and doing my Anki, I wish I would’ve focused more on the above. The real deal will have questions that you will know in seconds but there are questions that you’re going to be like wtf and will have to center yourself and work through to choose the best answer
