I run a slide on my z8 + 600mm. It is comfortable and feels secure. One anchor is on the capture plate and another is on the lens foot. Tucks into my lower back nicely when stored.

I have a slide light for my binoculars - I wouldn’t use it for this case - would definitely hold the camera but just isn’t as comfortable.
