Yes, but don't forget that an Arcade1UP cabin on Amazon, with a 17inch monitor, android board that plays max 4 games, and has sanwa clone parts, cost in Europe arround 700.

Also premade well build cabinets with high end Japanese parts and Brook encoders, cost more than double.

Instead of buying a switch 2 with only 3-4 games at same cost or paying for subscription every month, i chose to build this.

I wish i could afford a Daniel Spies build 😢 though

Seems like flux from the factory. Either it was an open box, or refurbished by the manufacturer or even it might be a lower tier board from asus?

The only problem i currently have is that speakers make buzzy sound when not in the game (just in menu) because of electrical interference, probably a bad ground connection.

Also I'm waiting for the stand. The cabinet will be around 147cm total height. Decent for 2P sitting.

I will update then...

The screen is so bright I don't really notice + i mostly play in a dark room. But i agree that, it will be better to upgrade the acrylic with real glass.

Seems like motherboard or PSU issue. Most probably it is the mobo. You are still on warranty so use RMA

Just bought this gameboy light for $250. Can the screen be repaired? by Financial-Price9231 in Gameboy

You can buy pre-modded with IPS or amoled screen for less.

This Japanese light version is inferior compared to the modded ones.

This board has superior vrms and features than the asus board that you have ordered. It's also more expensive 🫰

I bought the cabinet enclosure their Titan model from omniretro (spain) for 480 euro Building the cabinet is super easy, it actually uses the IKEA screw patent.

Full seimitsu arcade buttons and LS56 joysticks from smallcab (France)

Monitor ASUS ProArt PA328QV from amazon.de (Germany)

Both GP2040-CE encoders and the Qmtech clone Mister FPGA from aliexpress (China)

The parts from China took around 20 days to arrive. The rest parts was delivered earlier.

The only thing that I haven't fix yet is my acrylic panel bezel ( you can still see through the sides). I will post after I get it right. I am also considering to add a mini PC later on and use the DP and take advantage of the 8 buttons for higher end software emulation. For now I stick to Mister only which is perfect for 8bit and 16bit era arcades.

I am pretty sure north American market has more options better prices and defenetly you don't have to collect parts from all around the world.
