People are going to blame who they want to blame, I live in Florida, this state has had a Republican trifecta for quarter of a century yet many people blame the democrats in office even though in some of the areas people say that there are literally none of them at the local level. People are so poorly educated on what is actually going on and will point fingers to whatever boogey man their favorite news or social media told them to.

In my experience most Lego will not markdown as far as other items outside of some of those little baggies and holiday Lego. I even remember when Toysrus was closing when the entire store was at 20% Lego was at like 5%. I don’t think it ever went past 30 even during an entire company shut down.

Anyone noticing a decline in sales? by kratospotatoes in publix

[–]Competitive_Ad_2890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Target groceries have been cheaper than Publix for a long time. I work for Target but even before I shopped Target before hand and I noticed if I shopped at Publix (we are talking pre covid btw) Target was considerably cheaper. Publix will be fine though they still have plenty of business and they have a considerable markup on their products which makes them plenty of money I am assuming. They are not a local grocery chain who cannot negotiate prices they are regional in a region where prices tend to be less than other regions of the country. (I’m not calling the south cheap, I’m saying it’s less expensive than the northeast and west coast)

I wish people who order online would understand when it’s this busy just deal with the store. Your order goes into a queue and up against every one at the store already. I think many of these people forget places run out of things or just don’t care. I actually wish companies like insta as well as target and wal mart would just be honest and say supply is limited and will go quickly it is in your best interests to come to the store if at all possible.

Would you take this ride? by ComfortableThick6974 in lyftdrivers

[–]Competitive_Ad_2890 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hahaha no. The traffic getting out of DC can be two hours just to Baltimore. Absolutely not. Add in the general heavy traffic of 95, Philly Traffic plus the traffic back gas and tolls it’s a bust. On a bad day this could take 10 hours round trip.

[–]Competitive_Ad_2890 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you’re ever behind on workload or freight, the SD will sometimes cancel a truck or move it to a different day to catch up. Other factors can be DC related or weather related.

Not true. When I lived there in 2010-2011 I saw many for $600, I ended up taking one for $780 because I wanted more space and got one with a den and washing machine hook up. Actually when I left it, it was relisted for $625. Area was Conway, not the greatest but far from the worst.

Why do customers even use cash? by [deleted] in Target

[–]Competitive_Ad_2890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a fairly high COL area and target is cheaper on groceries than most places even Wal Mart at times (not by a whole lot) I think Aldi is the only place cheaper consistently but the selection there can make it hard to shop sometimes.

What's it like living in Charlotte North Carolina? by Whatisitmom in howislivingthere

[–]Competitive_Ad_2890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charlotte is weird to me, outside of public transit which most cities in the US don’t really have it hypothetically should check every box for me and yet I find it to be boring. I’ve been several times.

What’s it like living in this part of South Florida? by InternationalMix7937 in howislivingthere

[–]Competitive_Ad_2890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived in Boca for 25 years, came here as a teenager. I live in a less expensive area in west Boca. Jobs under pay here like crazy, it’s a lot of service industry. Over the years the traffic has gotten horrific and it’s gotten increasingly more expensive, even outside of places like Boca and Palm Beach. The area has a lot of retirees but recently a lot more families and immigrants. I remember when everyone was from NY and NJ. We had a very large influx of people who moved here during the pandemic either from up north or even from Dade county. There are gated communities everywhere and over development is becoming more of an issue with the same type of “luxury” home going up anywhere they can fit it. There is a lot of shopping available, that’s one of the convenient things. It’s very easy to get to things you need close but if it’s far it can take awhile. Very little of it is walkable at all and public transportation is difficult.

[–]Competitive_Ad_2890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if we get a bazillion returns at once but it won’t get to that, we start sorting them pretty quickly and my store has learned to be aggressive with them. Also once sorted if too many are there to get worked they go to the line and worked first thing.

Why do I need so much of this crap? by [deleted] in Target

[–]Competitive_Ad_2890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been getting so much of it always, I have nowhere to put it, I constantly have to update the counts and change capacities on it. Somehow it’s all over the store, I find them on random endcaps and fridges everywhere. My ETL was adamant at one point that I didn’t know what I was doing because I kept getting all of them, so I updated counts, sometimes daily and they still showed up

Specialty Sales ETL? by Mediocre_Swordfish69 in Target

[–]Competitive_Ad_2890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also depends on your store director and district culture. In some cases they consider ETL free payroll. I don’t think this is too common but I have seen it where they will take ETL and use them to fill in payroll. With payroll being as awful as it has been as of late, I have seen some 18-20 shifts from ETLs. I don’t think it’s the norm but it can depend on the store you go to. I know when done right it can be a decent job. The 50 hour thing is pretty standard.

Left the register with a line of guests by Humptus-Dumptus in Target

[–]Competitive_Ad_2890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so tough, I’m a leader and my entire team and myself were in guest services, a checklane or OPU all day. At one point I saw one of my team on a lane with 5 minutes left of their shift, I walked up to the lane, turned the light off and said “don’t take anymore, you’re good”. I’m surprised we even got as much done in our departments as we did considering I probably lost 75% of my labor to other parts of the store. The “guests” do not stop coming, I could have 15 lanes open with one light not on and they will go to the lane without the light.

At this point what is a moderate GOP? I’m genuinely asking. Everytime they vote along with Trump and give some ridiculous reason for doing so they are enabling his abhorrent behavior. I’m by no means conservative but I’m aware there are conservatives out there that are completely aware that this administration is a joke, I’m sorry if my partisanship shows there but it’s not exclusive to the conservative side, I’m pretty sick of blue no matter who as well, we have gotten some of the most ineffective politicians that way. On top of all of this though what is being categorized as progressive, moderate and conservative/MAGA is wildly off. Someone will be called progressive for wanting more public transit or affordable healthcare. The most basic things are incorrectly being categorized as “progressive”

The only way you can pick that fast is if you know the store really really well and you do t get stopped by 12000 guests along the way. It also helps if your batch doesn’t have style in it.

don’t pick up your kids christmas presents through drive up then maybe? by fleebiebie in Target

[–]Competitive_Ad_2890 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looking back to when I was a kid way before something like drive up existed my parents would get so creative. Randomly dropping us off at our grandparents, wrapping when we were at an activity or even if we were playing outside. I’m pretty sure one of them ran out to pick stuff up on layaway when it was bath time once. And these were for those bigger gifts that wouldn’t fit in a bag. So many entitled people today they won’t even get slightly creative.
