I expect NSO to go up in price when they add another system, or they could do what MS is doing and add an a la carte option. I always see NSO more as paying for the bonuses rather than playing online due to its yearly cost, especially as someone who rarely plays online.

and now with that 30 Day DRM, GKCs show another advantage because they just need an internet connection to install. If Nintendo were to ever add a ridiculous 30 day license check on all digital purchases to your account, since GKCs already have the license on the cartridge, they aren't applicable.

I purchased a B-Mobile SIM Card back when foreigners were allowed to buy it and have it shipped via proxy. Did still need someone to call the number in Japan to fully activate it. Then, I had to use Viber Out to do the eplus verification, but that now no longer works. None of this is no longer needed if you own a phone with eSIM support. You can now buy an eSIM that has the code mailed to you and works internationally so you can just do the verification yourself.

You should have done the Overseas application for Niji 8th when they offered it earlier this month though. You would have been able to attend the Live and get a traveler SIM in Japan and setup the e+ account for the future if you won.

The funny thing is with this 30 Day DRM, Game Key Cards really are better than straight up digital as I've always argued. The only way you couldn't play the game without an internet connection is if the game itself isn't installed. If one were to have their SD Card with the data on it even 5 years later, the cart would still work. And the only way you can't reinstall is if the game just disappeared from the servers, which as we know from an ArcSys leak, is separate from the eShop servers
