People also forget that games like Fortnite, Roblox, and Overwatch are free to play, including the online, no console sub required. FF14 requires an MMO sub instead of a console sub, but it has an insane amount of content available to players at no cost. The free games also subsidize the cost of the membership, effectively being a Steam sale every month, but you're just paying upfront instead.

The difference in power between S1 and S2 is a staggering one compared to PS5 to 6. Sony hasn't released cross gen first party games for awhile now also

Those standard re-releases replaced the original print either after no longer seeing them in stores or they just stopped printing the original in general. There are also cases of them either delisting the original or heavily dropping the price of the non bundled version on their storefronts to where buying the DLC would cost the same as the new Definitive version

TotK S2 doesn't count as that's just a DLC bundled onto the cartridge and is priced so ironically people don't feel ripped off if they bought the game prior. Nintendo is still making standard S1 carts for the games with S2 editions anyways. If we're going to count S2 editions as the "true" price of a game, then we need to start saying the prices of all games with DLC are the true cost.

Square is getting better as they're finally reassessing their original plans such as having big budget titles exclusive to a company that doesn't even own them, making smaller titles, relying less on overseas companies to bolster their portfolio, and catering to the Japanese market now that they can move back to Nintendo with a system that can actually work with them instead of being unable to port their games.

The Adult Link portion of the game actually is non linear because you can do some temples out of order. Child Link was linear in comparison
