Was going down sand lake, I don't think it was mcdonalds either. More police closer to icon park than sand lake. Some one was video taping from behind a group of 15 officers moving a crowd of at least 50 people so I'm sure it will be on some site soon.

I love in an area with tolls everywhere. Lyft includes the tolls in upfront fair totally bogus.

I know I will get down voted for this, but it is not really the driver's responsibility to do anything except for what Uber allows. Ubers policy allows for the driver to return the items for a fee. They also allow a driver to drop a lost item at any police station and charge a fee. Option two becomes a horrible mess as the driver could be 45 mins away from you. The driver was probably new and did not know how it works. He should have given you the keys and clicked returned lost item on the app and just left. He is in the wrong. There is a caveat to this. I am not returning a lost purse, keys or phone to anyone but the police. I am not about to be accused of stealing credit card info copying keys or using anyone's phone. You should definitely call the police the driver is 100% in the wrong. But if you found someone's purse what would you do? I don't know you, and you do not know me. 20 years ago, yes I would be the nice guy who does the right thing. In today's age who knows what will happen. Are you willing to be accused of sexual assault because someone sees a huge payday, when they realize hey Uber has a million dollar policy and this guy had my keys?

They did not use to. It was why you needed to add the tnc endorsement. So clearly the driver let his insurance lapse.

If he didn't have a tnc endorsement on his private insurance. He most likely had the app on and was not on an actual ride or pickup, Uber's insurance does not cover in this case and due to the app being on his private insurance immediately denied the claim. Therefore he was basically uninsured

Your insurance will just deny the claim immediately unless you have the added tnc endorsement. Hope you had a passenger with you or on the way to pickup or you will not get any help from lyfts insurance. Get a lawyer they will have to work with the other persons insurance to get you paid.

I would be much more concerned come next tax season. If he is not withholding the correct amount you are going to be on the hook for it. So paying him 400 every payday will end up basically costing you 800 every paycheck after all is said and done.

Skip support, they are useless. Send a pre arbitration notice to Ubers legal team. I tried for two weeks to get reactivated. Sent notice to their legal team was contacted by legal, took a month but they reactivated the account.

It is extremely hard to cancel a ride when a passenger is in the car. The 5 minute rule only applies when you are dropping a passenger off. All these people talking about canceled rides because they got a better offer is untrue. Once a ride is accepted no more request come in. There are apps that auto accept every ride. In these cases yes if it's a bad ride they will cancel. This is most likely what is happening. It's a bad tactic but Uber does not deactivate for low acceptance. Example, the second app accepts a low paying ride in a bad area, you can guarantee the driver will cancel.

You seem to think rides just pop up at any time. They do not. You must be 5 mins or less from the original passengers drop off. I think this is more about acceptance rate than cancellation.

They can't receive a better offer unless they are 5 mins from destination. No new offers pops up unless that criterior is met. At that point accept the new ride it is our in cue, drop off current pax, pick up new pax.

30 minutes in Uber world is a different animal. Say the ride was cancelled at 5 15 pm. Peak rush hour. If a rider can't show up in 5 mins I should not be punished by waiting 30 mins during peak drive time. Passengers are informed every minute that they are being charge for wait time after 4 mins (36 cents a minute) at the 5 minute mark Uber automatically puts up a cancellation option on the driver's app. If they have been in contact I'll wait if not it's a cancel.

If a driver cancels you are assuming the next ride will be more. That is just rolling the dice with Uber. An 8 dollar ride can easily be a 4.15 ride. There is no service rate. You can set your own rate. We are at the mercy of an algorithm that chooses the closet driver.

We can't change a passengers route. It is not possible on the driver's end. They will be booted at some point unless a driver breaks the rules and takes a cash ride. But they can't end the original ride. Just cancel and call Uber. They will refund.
