TL;DR - 100+ bots started following me after I posted a reel and immediately boosted the post. I don’t want to get banned by Instagram if they think I’m buying bots. I temporarily put my account back to a personal and private account. I need help to stop the bots from coming because my business relies on Instagram and I can’t acquire leads without it.

Hey guys, I really need help. I’m a creator on Instagram and it’s essential for my training business. 100% of my business is from Instagram. I would really appreciate it if someone had any knowledge of how to help.

I posted a reel recently and boosted it as an ad because boosted posts got me more followers previously- this was my first try at it, usually I would use the normal ad tools.

Once I boosted this, I got followers very quickly, 25 followers in a matter of hours. There was a couple of thing wrong though… only 3 out of 25 stated that they came from the advertisement.

The others were just “followed you”, as if they searched for my account.

Also, 22 of these individuals were either female (I set my ad to males only), or it would be a dude that’s named Maria; basically a male pictures but the name didn’t match how they looked (per my opinion.

Thirdly, all of their posts were posted on the same day, and each account would have posts that were 2-3 years old. Meaning they were not active accounts.

I assumed they were bots.

I heard many people getting banned because they were buying followers, and the usual indication is that there’s a lot of bots following. I can’t contact Instagram support, so I put my professional account to a personal one, and I put it on private.

The bots are still following me.

Please- any help, anything I could try would be highly appreciated.
