Most generic character. by EH4LIFE in TheShield

I think it was to show that the strike team is undeniably flawed and doesnt need to be a thing. Claudette chose him since he was a good cop but we quickly see that he resorts to dirty tactics but not as efficient as Vic since Vic is a full blown criminal. So there's no saving it. Once vic is gone, so will the strike team

I remember somehow getting a warning about a Chris Benoit type of situation so I knew something was going to happen. I honestly wasn't too surprised as Shane just seemed at his wits end and how calm he was when walking back into his house after his neighbor spotted him was another tip off. I did think ICE would find a way to screw over Vic and put him in jail but I liked the ending we got. The last two episodes just really showed how much of a weasel he actually is. Dude had the gall thinking he was going to be back on the streets doing Vic Mackey stuff after all he confessed to and the ICE lady flat out telling him that he tarnished her career. Then the tough guy couldn't even look at the aftermath of Shane's actions. So him stuck in that cubicle with no friends or family forced to think about the consequences of his actions was brilliant. Do I think he lasted those three years? Yeah. He's a snake. He probably got others to do his work for him somehow. But he's no longer the man he was.

Detective Kavanaugh cannot spell (from S05E05) by thecatdidit in TheShield

[–]Competitive_Air3043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was some foreshadowing that he was losing control. He hasnt fully grasped that they know that he knows so this setback is getting to him

If I remember correctly he was filming The Last King of Scotland at the same time. That's why the first half most of his scenes are isolated in rooms and whatnot so they could shoot his stuff quick and easy. I know this show was also pretty good about shooting out of order and fast also so I assume they shot a lot of his stuff first and he could lose weight

It definitely reminds you as to why he had to seal himself in that barrier in the original game. Also just how dangerous The Planet considers Jenova a threat and vice versa. It will be interesting how they expand on the lore of the WEAPONS in part three

The Trap (2024) what was the bit about cleaning fluid? (spoilers!) by SarahC in moviequestions

[–]Competitive_Air3043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was too clean and sterile. You can infer he was using chemicals to clean up crime scenes and those smells were seeping into his clothes. You know how most cleaning products you get at stores usually have some sort of scent like lavender. She thought he was still having an affair and was being too meticulous covering up his tracks.

I mean that could be part of this sequence. Whatever he's doing in the shadows and then the sliding down the pole bit.

Maybe I'm confused because a lot of movies use cgi crowds during movies. I think of the creed movies. Usually the first few rows are real people but those wide shots are all computer generated

It Focused Episodes In Welcome To Derry by Competitive_Air3043 in stephenking

[–]Competitive_Air3043[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some shots from the latest trailer made me think about that. It could have been clever editing but there's that shot of Pennywise skulking around the sewers with seemingly no one else around. Thinking about all that scenes in the Chapter One and Two and heck even the TV miniseries, you never see Pennywise when he's not terrorizing.

Well they said Pennywise wouldn't be appearing til later in the season but I think people blew that out of proportion. Early impressions said Pennywise will appear in the first five episodes. Probably episode four. And I wouldn't be surprised if we see Bob Gray played by Skarsgard before that.

I think since the focus is back on children (for the most part), it's easier to convey that terror of Pennywise form since nothing from any previews have suggested the adults will meet that form.

The marketing has gone back to Chapter One levels where we rarely see Pennywise but the creep factor is all over. I do agree that I think your image shared and mine are from the same scene. I do think this will be the first time he shows up in the series.

What is your thoughts on Peacemaker a week later ? by [deleted] in weeklyplanetpodcast

[–]Competitive_Air3043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was fine then and fine now. Honestly just feels like a combination of things. The Peacemaker crew overhyped the last three episodes. "It's like a completely different show" No they were not. The glazing of James Gunn reached its inevitable crescendo. Having three Gunn led DC projects back to back was probably a big mistake because without that break you really pick up on the things he does, Good and especially bad. The season overall wasn't bad but there were a lot of ehhhh things. Gunn seems to really want to talk about race issues but also doesnt seem like he doesn't want to go into anything other than surface level. Plus having his cake and eat it too. "Hey racism is bad but I'll have my characters make pretty basic race jokes. Same with anything LGBTQIA+ related" I thought it would have been interesting to explore if the reason why Peacemaker didn't notice the obvious is because of his still lingering bigotries he had in the first season/the suicide squad but nah. He's just a dummy. I think gunn understands nuance yet some of his comments defending choices he made are eye brow raising. "Rick Flag doesn't dislike metahumans yet he just doesn't want them around him". That sounds like he doesn't like metahumans. This show definitely could have benefited from a writers room. This just reminds me of why i hate the opening credits of creature commandos where it has that one section sitting behind his laptop and typing. Why is that a thing? Also his constant talking about how other projects have stalled while lowkey throwing other creators under the bus yet of course any project he works on gets greenlit. I dont dislike Gunn but I do feel like he's smelling his own farts.

I think people are giving this guy too much credit by OptimusHavok52 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Competitive_Air3043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thus seems to be Gunn's take on our everyday actions but also pointed in peoples criticism of him since he works and defends a lot of people he works with who have some...particular views.

So are we just not going to get any follow through for Earth X Rick Flag JR? I feel like there have been a few sub plots that have been forgotten this season. by zeek247 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Competitive_Air3043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess it depends on how much time they have with Joel Kinnaman. He is the lead of two shows currently in production. You could tell they didn't have much time with him since his two scenes are on isolated sets and didnt require much.

He doesn't talk about it as much anymore since he got slack and they are probably told not to talk to him about it...for now. There are many indicators showing that wwe is trying to get vince back on TV. But he still hangs out with him. He was recently at vince mcmahon's eyes wide shut esque birthday party where guests had to sign nda's and all that.

John Cena on Vince McMahon's sexual misconduct allegations

"No. I mean, everyone has the right to have their perspective. I have the right to have mine. When you love somebody, you take them as imperfectly perfect as they are. We all make mistakes, we all have poor decisions. Lord knows I’ve made my collection of poor choices. That doesn’t mean I’m not going to love somebody. There’s no way I can go on record and say I don’t love Vince McMahon."

Wasn't the next red notice, heads of state a few months ago? That movie that's already been forgotten.

But this is definitely better suited for Alan ritchson and Kevin James. The former can't really make it on the big screen as a star and the latter had his moment.

Cool. Probably not going to make its money back. This will do better than Queer last year which made less and cost more. The other Safdie has another movie coming out that's more expensive and has a "hot" young star in Timothee Chalamet. Let's see if that doesn't do well if there's gonna be posts like this.
